Sorry @Cybirdy ....

Go Albia. (They and Roland-Story play each other tomorrow in the semis...even if the R-S coach is an Ottumwa alum)

No real connection other than they were our conference champs. :) We played them on their senior night—6 seniors, 4 going on to play sports in college (3 in softball, 1 in basketball). Our senior night had been rained out so they also announced our senior at their game. Very nice gesture.

I looked at the trail info for the mountain some more this afternoon and it looks like it's only an extra hour and a half hike to another 14er peak, Mt. Oxford. It will be very tempting to continue on to that one and knock out 2 peaks in 1 trip. Also I was wrong in my last post; this will be my 4th peak, not 3rd. We'll see how my legs/lungs feel after the first peak but making it an even 5 that I have summited will be awfully tempting.

"5" is NOT an even number. ;)

I am very jealous. I fully plan on doing some of the easier 14ers in the future. My hope is to get some friends to do them with me.

Well, it looks like we won't be going to Ohio via Oshkosh after all. :)

So instead, we will return via Niagara Falls, Canada, and Detroit. :D

Maybe reading maps isn't our strong suit?
Have you ever seen Niagara Falls? And buy some Desperados for me.
