Thought I was going to work tomorrow but it's not dried out enough. Hoping for Thur if Wed/Thur rains miss.

@BoxsterCy , you give me grief about soda being the devil. Well I guess I'm going hell. LOL Pepsi 12packs have been on sale the last couple of weeks and thought I'd share this photo of my 13 12 packs of Mtn Dew Livewire.

I had a company schedule a phone interview with me and then never called at the time two weeks later just sent me a rejection email.

Yeah, thanks, I kind of assumed.....

Got an application in over the weekend, received an email to sign up for a phone interview yesterday, so selected for 3:30p today. At around 10:15a, received a rejection email. Wha? Still got a call at 3:30 from HR. The spot had been filled, but they've been growing pretty quickly. HR rep said that if I saw the same or similar opening I was interested in, just to send her an email.

Not great, but not as bad as I feared.

More than a shade rude. It's not that hard to make a phone call (but you knew that).
Used to get an interview every time. Now I'm lucky to get a flush letter.

Applied today for a weekend warrior factory job working 3 twelve hour overnights every weekend. Easy enough job, but I'll be stunned if I ever hear from them.

Probably for the better. Company was a mess. HR set me up with an interview with them on a Thursday, some company they hire to do initial interviews with called me on Wednesday wanting to interview me on the spot, didn’t have the correct questions to ask me and had to call me back three hours later with the district manager questions instead of the store manager questions, had a crap ton of background noise the whole time, just a complete mess. And it was in San Jose. I want to move to california, but San Jose is probably the one part I’m not overly excited about.

found a monarch caterpillar on the fennel greens in the CSA. I went out hunting for a milkweed plant to move it to. Mosquitos are HORRIBLE. Told DH they were swarmy. Went back out with car and found a good spot. Mosquitos literally swarming car as I jumped in and out.

So in the last 20 minutes DH is like hey I'll go out quick and put that Japanese beetle stuff on a couple trees. He came in and is like I should have done that tomorrow. He's got like 50 bites. I'm like I told you!!!!!

So it sounds like maybe you have a better than generic email address to send to sounds like a pretty good start.

Too warm to get a road bike ride in after working outside most of the day. Rallied and got the fat bike out and rode some trails at the state park later in the evening. Long as you could keep peddling skeeters weren't to bad. Had to bail on a couple of steeep hills and it didn't take long for them to find you. Should have DEETed up.

Had a creek crossing that I had to ford only about 6-8 inches deep wasn't brave enough to try to ride thru the creek bed was a bunch of 4-6 inch smooth river rock. Hills might have been doable but a blown shift and you were done and way to steep for me to try to restart on. Ended up running out of daylight right as I got out of the woods caught a ride back to the other end of park with the park ranger. Didn't want to road ride in the dark with no lights. Overall it was quite a work out/ experience. Fun but lots of paying attention, timber trails and fading light = time to concentrate. Damn that bike is fun but I really shouldn't over estimate my abilities so much, also not ready for clips on that bike yet.

Welp time to figure out WC to Belmond for tomorrow am supposed to be up there for the parade & picnic. I've rode it the last couple of yrs but need to recheck so I don't get to far off course.

Have a great & safe Fourth everyone.

Brandy Taylor is a porn star to me so I'll never take a name like that seriously. For better or for worse.

The other is what do you guys think of Houston, TX? I'm arguing in an airport and want to know y'alls thoughts

Houston TX it's an O&G town that parts of it are prone to flooding, when soaked with 4 ft of rain. Have a friend from there though and he is a nice guy.

My LEAST favorite part of Texas. Hot, muggy, prone to flooding, mosquitos big enough to carry off small children, chiggers in every lawn, and a nasty "beach" in Galveston.

We fly in to Houston, but head north out of there as quickly as possible! ;)

Houston sucks. It's featureless, just flat WAY spread out and boring except for the richie parts where President Bush used to live. And humid. Did I mention humid? Whenever it gets really humid here I call it HLH, aka Houston Like Humidity. Not as bad as VLH, aka Vicksburg Like Humidity but close.
