Lets drop the politics folks. It has its place and it’s best to stay there

Plans alumni bike outing for Sunday. Checks weather again today and it has this unusual term of "mostly sunny" for Sunday. Skeptical not just because of my personal biking weather curse but it generally rains or threatens to rain everyday. Pretty sure this is some sort of trick. Going to set out sunscreen just in case.

Couple close friends have a new not-biking excuse. Mostly it's been "too late in the day" or "it's too hot". Now they have a dog and have added "we will have to see how the dog is doing." Kinda think they just don't wanta bike with me.

Is this one of those underwear or thong biking events? Saw that in Chicago.

Usually I have pretty good luck with deliveries (packages, not babies). I had been stalking a package because it was supposedly 2 day delivery through ShopRunner. Ordered on the 13th and by the 18th it was still in Chicago. Yesterday was hubby’s birthday so I was hoping it would be here before he left on his trip. I was coming home about 10:45 and saw a Fed Ex van leaving our street but no package. Later I checked on the tracking and it said “Delivered 10:41am”. No package outside my house. Decided to walk down to the neighbor’s house. Found my package. That rarely happens—our house number is pretty easy to see even from the street. We haven’t technically met the neighbors even though they have lived there for a year. I think they are gone for an extended period of time—they are both professors at ISU and I think from China. Anyway, took my package from their front step. Later I check the mail and half our mail is a different neighbor’s mail. We wonder how much of ours gets delivered to other people, happens quite frequently.

On another note, I ordered something from Target at noon on Monday and it was on my doorstep yesterday early evening.

Target seems to be pretty good about deliveries. We get mail for random neighbors sometimes but it's usually junk. Is it illegal to throw that away? I mean, if it looks legit we'll put it in their mailbox but it's like random ads for furniture sales or lawn care.

We share a house number with a different house in our neighborhood on a totally different street (Not just Road v. Circle but a totally different name, just same house number). We regularly get some of their mail and I take it over and pop it in their mailbox. I don't know if they ever do the same for us.

I do on occasion write wrong address on it and put it back in our mailbox to let the postal delivery person know that they got it wrong again, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

We also get a couple of professional periodicals addressed not to the people who we bought the house from about 14 years ago, but the original owner. I'm not even sure if he is still alive.

Whoever is sorting our mail sucks at their job. We have one of those community mailboxes with locked boxes, so I usually throw it back in the mail or make my kids run it over. It happens all the time. Our old neighbors ended up with bills and SS statements of ours, preschool registration ended up with the neighbors three houses down. I do throw junk mail away if it isn’t ours.

Somewhere on some mailing list is my sister-in-law’s name and our address. They live in South Dakota, she has a different last name. But somewhere her name got associated with our address. It is all junk that comes addressed to her. I throw it away but I should collect it all and give it to her next time we see each other.

We occasionally get junk mail for PapaLew's EX-WIFE! Note - when we married, we sold his home & moved everyone into mine. 10 years later, we sold that house and moved to this one. We've been here nearly 15 years. She has NEVER been anywhere near this house.
