There are pics on the internet of young Master Woo (fully clothed I assure you) showing that he has been sworn in as an Officer of the Court in Wisconsin and that is good enough for me. It looks like they had a pretty classy ceremony- no 12 packs and no meat raffles.
Bottled 6-packs and pull tabs?

Gloomy poopie cloudy again. I need sun since I am solar powered. No sun and my inner sloth comes out to play. ******* mosquito breeding weather.
The neighbor kid across the street just got a job working for a mosquito control company. He came out of his house the other day wearing a gas mask and protective clothing. Gas masks are not the norm in our neighborhood.

I assume his name is Jack Flash. Because...you know...it's a gas, gas, gas.

I'll show myself out...

Yep, ol' Sol is the best source of Vitamin D, which helps combat depression.

Of course, in the good ol' days when it was cloudy we got our vitamin D this way:

(Anyone here remember cone-top beer cans?)
My brothers and I used to collect beer cans as kids. They were before my time, but we had a few in our collection.

@GTO: What do you know about Prairie View, Texas?

Job just opened today at Prairie View A&M, closes Friday. Obviously, they and their candidates have to move quickly.
My research stuff is a perfect complement to most of their faculty, who primarily focus on 20th Century civil rights history.
Historically black college, could be interesting to see if we mesh. And, you know, a good job.

Not me. Was that a midwestern thing?

No....when beer was first put into cans, around 1935, people were used to bottled beer and had a very tough time learning how to use a "church key" to open the can.

So they decided to put a metal cone on top of the can, and that way it could be opened like a bottle. Eventually they went back to flat top cans, or for awhile there were panels on theside of the can showing how to properly open them.

That’s the nice part of Texas! You should go for it.

My wife and I closed on a house a couple weeks ago. This is what my mom got us as a housewarming gift.

I'll be updating the cover letter tonight and sending stuff tomorrow.

Cypress looks like a nice location, so anywhere from Cypress to Prairie View looks nice in my little search thus far.
We were just there in April...Daddy is in Bryan, sister & BIL in College Station, and their two daughters in Spring & The Woodlands.
Cypress is on the outer ring - on the edge of the heavy Houston traffic zone. Nice area. Lots to see & do on easy day trips. It's low country, hot & humid, but better than Houston. Don't expect much from Galveston beaches though...unless they've improved a lot from when I was a teenager.

We're not real beachy or outdoorsy, so there's that.

One thing that surprises me: I can get the schedule of courses on any school's website. This school is eluding me.

I have family in the woodlands, it's a nice area... close to houston but still residential and suburby.
