Yeah, so is mine. Quintessential.

My first day at work he saw my Iowa State lunch bag and said, "Hey, ugly bag man."

We get along for the most part, but he's a hawk-bag for sure.

This morning there was a story in the local paper about a hold-up at one of the Casey's stores in town.....my boss had to go all over the office, laughing because the perp wore an ISU sweatshirt. Douche canoe deluxe.

Was that the K-Pop group? My wife made me come over and watch that. They were pretty good. Lot's of energy.

I wish I had seen the purple lingerie singer, although, if it was DJ Khaled, I take that back.

The only other part of the show I saw was the Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato song. Why was their hair wet?

The crowd was very heavily cheering for the K-pop BTS. Like, nothing else was even close.
Aguilera performance was very meh.....although she will always be the genie in a bottle singer, and that is worth something. Demi Lovato is repulsive.
DJ Khaled said "Get your hands up, make some noizzzzze"...again. That's all he's got. He and JLo should be ashamed of themselves for that display.
I wonder if Kelley Clarkson uses the same atrificial tear stimulant for her drama as our politicians have used?
Sangria wine....that's like saying budwieser beer or Dunkin Donuts fried pastries.
I was going to tell you my favorite performance...but there really wasn't one. Salt N Peppa deleivered a solid rewind I guess.

Any electricians on here? My brother borrower my truck; he swears he put it in park, but he stopped in at my moms house, and when he came out, the truck rolled out of the driveway downhill and took out one of those green electrical boxes. Of course since its my truck, it will have to go through my insurance. How much should I expect the bill to be for that green electri box to be fixed? It took a couple hours for them to fix it and get power going. My property damage liability is 100k, so I'm fairly confident I'll be fine, but I'm also paranoid the bill for this would somehow exceed that

PapaLew says nah, it won't exceed that. However, you probably will have to pay a deductible. Any chance your brother can pony up some or all of that?

At graduation today, they sat in alphabetical order. My graduating class was seated in a better order, by class rank. Village idiot was sitting at the top right corner.
I had a teacher in high school who reverse grade order sat you. So dumb kids in the front. It was savagery.

Yeah. So apparently this power company that owned the box doesn't have insurance for that kind of thing (wtf?), and I just carry liability on my truck since its a cheap truck. I'm going to tell my brother that the premium increase that will result from the eventual claim should be paid by him, which he will because he feels awful about it.

I asked my uncle who is a contractor, and he said he'd be surprised if it was more than 20k. I'm just a paranoid person in general

This post will be the definition of random so buckle up.

Had a very busy but productive weekend. Friday I worked a full day and then drove to Ames to close up our house for the summer since my roommates said they had moved out and wouldn't be back for a while. Stayed up until after midnight (after driving 3 hours to get there) cleaning and things of that nature. Saturday morning before I left I sent a message to both of my roommates letting them know I had turned off the water, turned up the thermostat, etc. and one of them replied that they would actually be back later that day to grab some more things. Great communication dude. I guess he just had to deal with turning everything back on.

Saturday I left Ames before 6 to do a survey in Carroll. That went well until a guy in a truck that was lifted 8 inches with tinted windows parked right in the line of sight of our equipment and walked into the movie theater before we had a chance to ask him to move. Any other vehicle, even a regular-sized truck, wouldn't have been a problem but he and the rain pretty much ended our day.

On Sunday my sister graduated from high school. It was a wonderful ceremony. Hard to believe she's old enough to graduate already. She'll be attending UNI in the fall so hopefully she doesn't turn into one of those crazy Panther-Hawks.

Here's where it gets really random. As I was driving back to NW Iowa last night at like 10:00, I was shuffling through radio stations and stopped on a program that had a pastor from Las Vegas on talking about how he believed that aliens are not actually from outer-space, but are demons that are signaling the end-times. Now, I consider myself a pretty devout Christian but that was a little too far out there for my taste. That prompted me to decide that I should listen to audiobooks on these long drives so if you have any suggestions let me know. That's enough of my ramblings; now back to your regularly scheduled programming!

the long, long story short is basically I found out today that a relative is planning to come stay with us for one or two weeks later this summer, uninvited. I know I said two weeks, in the PM there's a glimmer of hope that they may have meant one week. Either way, this is going on without DH and I being asked if we would like their "help" immediately following the calf's arrival. It is being presumed, incorrectly. And was quite the unpleasant shock for me to hear about.

I'm guessing this is someone's first grand child, or some other form of first grand niece or nephew and they just assume you will need help.

CG, the dislike is for the uninvited guest thing. After a little while my sisters accepted help from both sets of Grandmas, it was kind of nice for some assistance but it was after they'd been home and had a chance to settle in . Good luck on getting this resolved and still keeping family relations intact.

An Army officer school did that junk. I started in the front because I love that stuff. I was learning a ton the first few weeks, interacting with instructors and just rolling right along.

Then some moron failed an exam, so we had to trade places. From the back, I couldn't hear, couldn't see the slides clearly, and wasted the next few months of taxpayer money.
Should have just set up the dumb guy for tutoring or something. If you're failing Army exams, it's really a you thing.

Nope, but the problem is the one who had the priors welcomed or at least allowed a 2 week stay. So apparently it's assumed Dh and I operate the same. Also, in that case the dad had to be back at work early. Dh will be home for a while. Also, we are just much more private. Another also, probably good to clear it with us first before you take the time off work.
