I'm glad I don't live with you @ImJustKCClone, and not because I think you're nasty or anything like that. It's just that, being diabetic, with you eating all that candy all the time I'd probably have to strangle you.

Actually, Lew eats most of the candy. And the sucker stays relatively slim, damn him! One thing I found out recently is that despite my girth, I'm not even remotely diabetic. Solid A1C & glucose results. So there's that, I suppose. :D

My downfall is salty treats - garlic rye chips and salted peanuts & cashews. Hence the propensity for kidney stones?

My last two rejections have been, "Being in a defined relationship gives me anxiety." Why didn't you tell me that on our first 3 dates?

This is the best day ever. New episodes of The Ranch, Crash Team Racing remastered announced, The Blacklist season 6 trailer, and the Milwaukee Bucks are getting Sam Dekker.

Things I've learned living in the city (yes, I consider Ames a city): at night people either drive with no lights on or their high beams on and there is no in between. I just drove from my house on 24th street to Hy-Vee on Lincolnway and counted 6 cars with no headlights on and 8 cars with their high beams on.

Eh, my mother was an artist when it came to wrapping presents. They looked beautiful under the tree. And she loved it when we attacked them on Christmas morning. :D

I worked at JCPenney's at the catalog desk after we were first married...learned/honed my gift wrapping skills there. I don't consider myself a great wrapper, but I'm better than average...kinda like Kanye.

Or, if you are driving a small car it's just big pickups and mothership SUVs with HD lights that just shine from a really high angle. Even my low Audi gets people flashing at me sometimes and I am low to the ground (relatively) and I am on low beam. The best of the new headlights are tightly focused, mine have a distinct horizontal cutoff line you can see that focuses the light low on low beam. Some of the makes/models do not have that sharp of a cutoff.

What amazing me is the number of dim yellowed out lights I see on other cars. Assuming these are the yellowed or frosty aged lense covers on older cars. Come on people, get some polishing compound and buff them off a little so you can see better. If you think compound is too expense use some toothpaste on them.

^^^^This!!!
And dipshits that don't wipe the snow off their headlamps & taillights. Also the ones who leave snow on a significant portion of their windows, roofs, hoods & trunks - the first reducing their visibility, the latter three creating mini-blizzards in their wake for the poor schlubs behind them.

My guess is that most of those drivers don’t realize the light is not good. No excuse, just an observation from living in a college town.

I'm also seeing a disturbing number of drivers who have some sort of front light on (driving lights or even headlights) but absolutely no tail lights whatsoever. How can your headlights be on with no taillights?

Daytime Running Lights, especially if they don't have automatic lights. Combine that with most cars having an illuminated dashboard/instrument cluster by default and some people don't realize they don't have their lights on. Plus being in urban areas with good lighting and it happens.

Probably not as old as me and have better night vision! I absolutely LOVE my HD headlights. I have an old 1987 Porsche with old tech sealed beam headlights that gave me a reminder of how less than optimal those old headlights were. I replaced them with some brighter more modern sealed beams, can't go HD/xenon without a total replacement with focused lens etc, but was still a big improvement.

I am kind of a lighting fanatic, don't get me started on the weak ass bulbs and illumination of most bathroom vanity lights, especially in hotels and resorts.

They’re not always running lights - like a big old truck this morning with tiny little orange lights on front about a foot from the ground. Parking lights, anyone? Just turn the darn headlights on.
