Yes. I think she wanted to frost, but the cake started tearing up so she said I should do it. Plus the whole, DON"T BURN YOURSELF on the pan thing. LOL

MrsWx and I have gone back and forth on the whole vacation during the school year thing. Her opinion is that all of the school work is taken care of why not. It is significantly cheaper to go then anyway. My mind can't wrap around that as we didn't vacation much to begin with and since my mom worked at the school and only got two personal days a year we pretty much didn't leave town other than to visit family at the farm on a weekend from August-June.

To be fair even the weather talking heads said that they didn't predict it would be that bad. The combination of huge snowfalls right at evening rush so plows had no chance to move any of it resulted in a nightmare evening commute. I know that I left my work and had been gone over 30 minutes but could still see my building.

I'm glad they cancelled it. the forecast was really ugly last night and it's starting to look pretty icky now. I know my wife had to stay an hour late during that last snow fall because of bus delays and some of the kids didn't get home until two hours late.

I don't think too many people or even teachers mind if the kids get taken out for a week each year. We plan our trips during breaks, but attendance is really important to us. It isn't as important to everybody. However, when they are going on multiple trips every year, that makes it really tough on the kids and teachers.

Also, there was a bang like 12:30am from somewhere. I legit was like "oh, DH must be moving something" before I thought it through. Convinced myself it was one of the dishes I tetris-ed onto the drying rack shifting and falling a bit. I'm still alive today so I think I was correct.

We heard a big scary bang outside our back door last night. It turned out to be the shovel I keep out there for shoveling snow off of the deck. If I hadn't shoveled last time, there still would've been snow out there and it wouldn't have been loud at all.
