Co-worker comes over to my desk and says, "If I don't feel better by tomorrow, I'm probably not coming in."

Dude went out for about 8 smoke breaks today, ordered and ate a huge greasy burger for lunch and was chatting loudly all afternoon with the guy behind him.

Hopefully he survives the night.

He called in sick.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that it's supposed to be in the mid 50s today

Also, since the dream theme has been going for a few days.....dreamed last night that I was peeing blood. This is critical for me, because I had a severe kidney inflammation as a child (nephritis), and have also survived a malignant tumor - and several more growths - in my bladder. Woke up very agitated, so I went in the bathroom a peed.....no blood. (whew)

Yeah, we've done some Z-pacs before.....she had one with Prednizone (sp?) and pretty much freaked out. It took me quite awhile to get her calmed down - I gave her some Benadryl and finally convinced her to watch some Downton Abbey with me, and that did the trick. But she begged her doctor to NEVER give her that crap again!!!
That doesn't make sense to me...Z-packs are antibiotics (Azythromycin). Prednisone is a steroid (anti-inflammatory). Prednisone DOES have the capability to hop you up (like steroids are known to do). Right now I'm taking both - I wonder if she was, also?

I'm lucky that I don't react that way to steroids, because I've had to use them several times for poison ivy (I'm strongly allergic and it spreads rapidly on my body).

Prednisone is insane. I'm sure you're not using it for long, but wow, that stuff is strong.

Yeah, I know. My ex had Crohn's Disease. We did everything we could to limit his use of it.

Five days this time - burst only. For the poison ivy it has been a burst & taper which usually lasts 15 days...I've had to do that three times over the past 14 years (since moving out here to the woods), so it hasn't really been excessive use for me. :)

I have had the same poison ivy issue since the turn of the century. It never affected me like that before that. I also have had to have Prednisone the last few times I have ended up with strep throat. It is amazing how I can go from agony to no big deal in about an hour after taking it for strep.

I like using prednisone to get feeling better, but I don't like it when the wife uses it because it's like PMS x 10. I'd just love to move out of the house when she is on it.

I had to take Prednisone the first few days I had the shingles. It didn't bother me then but when I had to take it about 10 years earlier it was awful for about the first 30-60 minutes. I would break out in a sweat and had like really bad heartburn or something for that first hour.

Did I ever tell you my Kansas game story?

I was working at Hilton and we had Kansas on Monday night ESPN. Right during the game one of the shot clocks goes out. We tried recabling it and a couple other things but finally we decided we would have to change it out so another guy and I climbed up the stanchion and worked on getting the shot clock (that was stuck) out of the frame and replace it with another clock. All the time we are working on this the under basket hand held camera was shooting up from below and broadcasting it nationwide. After we got done and the phone in the broom closet (courtside) keeps ringing with old employees calling to give us **** about seeing us so prominently on TV I start thinking about the angle of the camera shot and how glad I am that I didn't wear the pair of jeans that had a big hole in the crotch that I often wore to work.

Cool story, bro.

Enjoy the game tonight.
I think I may have been at that game and I may have been sitting behind the backboard. The one KU game that really comes to mind is one where we lost. It was a battle until late when Kevin Pritchard got fouled late and that was pretty much the game. He was standing at the line and the crowd had gone silent. One person, at the top of their lungs yelled, "Shave your eyebrows!" We may have lost but at least Kevin Pritchard's eyebrows were made fun of on national TV.

Also, a friend recently was at a Wolves game and commented on how great the lobby looks.
