Co-worker comes over to my desk and says, "If I don't feel better by tomorrow, I'm probably not coming in."

Dude went out for about 8 smoke breaks today, ordered and ate a huge greasy burger for lunch and was chatting loudly all afternoon with the guy behind him.

Hopefully he survives the night.

I think what he did there is called "setting the table". My guess is he already has plans for tomorrow, and will call in regardless.

Seafoam is designed specifically for cleaning your carbs. It was originally created for boats which sat for long periods with gas in the carbs. Either that or some STP carb cleaner.

I run my small gas engines down on fuel at the end of the season, and when they start to sputter I dump in a few ounces of Sea Foam. Haven't had a problem since I started doing this.

Got to help a buddy vent and strategize today. He drew the assignment of being the T.A. for the department's nightmarish prof.
It was always fun to hear around the office when a T.A. would complain about who they worked for. You could almost schedule in the complaints about this prof on a predictable basis, and I'd immediately be able to tell who that one worked for.

Dude's in for a rough time, but he'll survive.

Seriously, girl, have Lew take you to see the doc. Unlike some of us here you cannot earn extra Man Card points for not going.
I did.
I don't have pneumonia, so yay me?
I did get yelled at by the doctor for not coming in sooner. He knows me too well. Sinus infection that drained down my throat causing tickle causing unproductive cough. Coughed so much I inflamed the bronchial tubes & lungs, which just makes me cough more, which makes them more inflamed, which makes the doctor yell at me. :(
Antibiotics for the sinuses, prednisone to make my airways relax a bit, industrial strength cough medicine to get me stopped coughing enough to sleep at night.

The vixen has exactly what you do. She coughed so much her ribs hurt. Finally went and got antibiotic (which has caused her lots of grief in the gastro-intestinal arena) and some very expensive codeine-laced cough syrup, which did absolutely nothing. Then the doc gave her some pills for the cough, which work well but cause extreme drowsiness. I pity the both of you....listening to her cough makes MY ribs hurt.

Tell her I will toast her tonight with my cough syrup (it has worked for me in the past, mostly because it knocks me out)...and I hope she's better soon. I'm doing a Z-pack because I don't tolerate the longer courses of antibiotics for the same reason as the vixen. Last time I got strep throat, I opted for the penicillin shot in the kiester instead of the 10 day course. Z-pack is a -mycin, but it's done in 5 days with a big dose up front, then less for the following four days.

Did I ever tell you my Kansas game story?

I was working at Hilton and we had Kansas on Monday night ESPN. Right during the game one of the shot clocks goes out. We tried recabling it and a couple other things but finally we decided we would have to change it out so another guy and I climbed up the stanchion and worked on getting the shot clock (that was stuck) out of the frame and replace it with another clock. All the time we are working on this the under basket hand held camera was shooting up from below and broadcasting it nationwide. After we got done and the phone in the broom closet (courtside) keeps ringing with old employees calling to give us **** about seeing us so prominently on TV I start thinking about the angle of the camera shot and how glad I am that I didn't wear the pair of jeans that had a big hole in the crotch that I often wore to work.

Cool story, bro.

Enjoy the game tonight.

Both Thunder and Lightning started. Thunder might have some gummy bear disease. He needed a little choke even after he ran for awhile and it's in the 40's.

You drove all the way to kiester for your shot? Heard the clinic was nice but didn't realize people came from so far away. Btw, stop by and say hi next time. The farm is not too far away.

There's a Kiester, Iowa?

I'm assuming you know that's a kinder, gentler, (older) word for ***?

Thought that word was filtered...ooops!

Yeah, we've done some Z-pacs before.....she had one with Prednizone (sp?) and pretty much freaked out. It took me quite awhile to get her calmed down - I gave her some Benadryl and finally convinced her to watch some Downton Abbey with me, and that did the trick. But she begged her doctor to NEVER give her that crap again!!!
