I just had a contractor in my office complaining because the city building inspector told him the windows he replaced for his customer don't meet egress (escape) requirements. He actually said to me, "Is it really my responsibility to know that?" SMH. JFC.

I have residential code books in my office, and I have contractors coming in here all the time asking me questions about what they need to do in order to conform to building codes on things like stairways, deck loads and construction, insulating and energy efficiency, etc. And it seems to me like some guy who decided to become a brain surgeon and just thought "oh the hell with it, who needs all that expensive medical school crap" and bought a scalpel and started cutting on folks.

@ImJustKCClone, this retirement thing is looking better every day. Maybe a cabin up North with a woodburning stove.....I can hunt and fish and grow vegetables....just need a radio to listen to my Cyclones........

I'd hate to see what happens when he tries to parallel park.

That happens from time to time. I think it's because they think they have their foot on the brake, but actually have it on the gas. The car isn't stopping, so they keep pushing harder and harder on their "brake." And right through the building they go.
Or you put it in drive, space out a bit, and hit the gas thinking you put it in reverse.

We've had an amazing number of people asking us if we are moving. Errr, what? We LOVE Iowa. Our friends are here, our family is scattered from Delaware to Seattle to Texas. Where would we go?
I've started telling people that we're considering a cabin for seasonal getaways. They say, Texas? Arizona? Florida? And I say no, Northern Saskatchewan. Maybe even the Yukon. Summers aren't nearly so hot up there. ;)

You might be crazy. I can respect that. :)

Remodeling Man did not bite off more than he can chew with this move the big cold air return project. Close though, it is turning into a crocodile size bite. Tearing into the 1960 works, the 1990's remodel and the 2002 remodel. Woof.

Back to work, coffee break is over.

If anybody is bored Thursday night and wants some comedy relief of somebody clearly in over their head. I can tell you where to tune into to hear yours truly embarrass himself providing the action call and a lot of the color commentary of a local wrestling triangular. I do it because the guy who shows up understands maybe 2% of wrestling. With the kid still sidelined, they will hear all 14 matches not 13 and a final result of one so I don't yell into the headset.

Gotta online link? That would be interesting.

I've never coached, but I have always been an enthusiastic supporter. For the first few meets, I had to sit next to a retired coach that very kindly explained what all the calls & moves were. I didn't know a takedown from a reversal. :D

Two seasons ago, I had a crash course in wrestling from the husband when we went to the...crap...whatever round it is two before state...at Albia. So, I had fairly good wrestling to learn from. Then, I had to show up solo at Knoxville and report who qualified for state from our area schools. I didn't get the chance last season for a full review again, but got one on paper. Then, reported from Fairfield. State can be difficult when you're supposed to be watching mat 4, but mat 6 is a LOT more exciting.

The Mechanic: Resurrection didn't get good reviews but the opening scene restaurant brawl was classic Frank. Watching on HBO. Hell how bad can it get, it's got Michelle Yeoh in it.

Told lineups, this will take work to make it interesting. 3 starters graduated, 1 kicked off the team, 1 injured, and one quit. Down 6 starters from last year and weights are off. Of those 6, they included 5 of our top 6 wrestlers.

Just to show how weak their talent pool is, their basketball color guy is blind ,literally blind. White cane and all.

Good thing i double checked there, auto correct put black in for blind. That would have been a doozy.
