Not exactly sure.
PapaLew used to have to sit several bleacher sections away from me at meets when he was videotaping the boys. I'm a VERY vocal fan...

My biggest problem is I was in my son's corner for roughly 10 years and coached my kids' basketball teams for many years. Its hard turning off the coach part and becoming the idle parent.

EDIT: Except football, for some reason I have hit the cool and collective button there with both my boys.

Nope.........I'm 61, but unless something significant happens in the health care industry (Yeah, right, whatever) I still have a few years to go.
We were able to extend our current insurance (we pay the full premium now) without having to go the cobra route. The group plan lowers our premium as opposed to individual plans, but the possibility for rate hikes is still there. :(

I've never coached, but I have always been an enthusiastic supporter. For the first few meets, I had to sit next to a retired coach that very kindly explained what all the calls & moves were. I didn't know a takedown from a reversal. :D

My wife said shes retiring as soon as IPERS is possible (roughly 56). I haven't broached the insurance subject with her yet. I am dreading laying out the options then (Its not like I will tell her the options, she always leaves anything like that up to me. I'd prefer if it was more mutual decision). My wife is a planner for many things, but surprisingly not a life planner. I am the opposite.

If anybody is bored Thursday night and wants some comedy relief of somebody clearly in over their head. I can tell you where to tune into to hear yours truly embarrass himself providing the action call and a lot of the color commentary of a local wrestling triangular. I do it because the guy who shows up understands maybe 2% of wrestling. With the kid still sidelined, they will hear all 14 matches not 13 and a final result of one so I don't yell into the headset.

Health insurance is definitely the limiting factor now, especially if you have on-going medical conditions.

This is almost the complete opposite for my wife and I. I can organize an entire month's worth of activities and have things line up nice and neat, but she is significantly better than me in terms of long-term planning. Granted, she was a finance major and has her father's financial savvy. She just gets what moves to make.

I always say she'll be the reason we retire early, but I'll be the reason we have fun until then.

I should add that when I mention the fun part, my wife usually says, "I hope you enjoy 'having fun' by yourself"

I watch our high school wrestlers fairly often (we're ranked #2 pre-season, yay!) and I always go home exhausted. I get physically involved, to the point where I have to actually make myself relax, which is tough.

I was the same way. I would tense up so much that my whole body would hurt that night. Football & track were no where near as hard on my body as watching wrestling. All of them pretty much left my throat raw though. :D

As a basketball player in high school, I didn't make it to a lot of wrestling meets so I can't relate too closely. However, a cheerleader that I dated in high school said her favorite sport to cheer for was wrestling because it was personal and you felt like part of the action. The relationship didn't last very long. I can't remember why she dumped me but it was probably for somebody in singlet.

I guess if you're paying cash and are $208 short.

Totally. They have dropped it $508 dollars since the beginning of the month when they told us that they can't go any lower. It really is very well priced but sadly just isn't the right timing for us. Stupid new furnace...
