Man that uniform thread takes some strange turns. Now someone is complaining that ISU has no identity because the logo on the helmets today was just an outline. Someone else is complaining that the lack of gold in the white helmet signifies that gold is being phased out of the school colors.
They clamor for white helmets then complain when they get them.

Since it's a weird fetish thing you'd think they would have some subreddit place to go like Pants mentions at times.

I didn't want to admit it in those circle jerk threads, but I actually thought the all white looked pretty awesome yesterday.

Still don't like the gray they do like for the Iowa game, though.

@cowgirl836 @WooClone15 That house explosion was intentional to try to cover up a murder.

for real?!?!!?

It had seemed suspicious in that MG&E or whomever was like "it wasn't just a gas leak" and rumors of financial troubles for the owners. I thought maybe it was going to be insurance fraud. I had read that the wife was a SAHM so I figured a 2pm weekday explosion that she was the one dead. But wow, that's insane.

I just figured it out. No I didn't read it (the article)or I would probably have sooner. Probably.

The news item "UNI Watch...." I kept wondering, why is there a story about UNI? That game was 2 weeks ago. Today it dawned on me... UNI=Uniform. Maybe if it were abbreviated Uni I might have caught it sooner.

@WooClone15 I saw this sad story about a player dying on Wooster's football team after their game yesterday, but it's a little lean on details as of right now.
I saw that; one of my classmates shared the news. I didn't know the kid (I was a senior when he was a freshman), but I am absolutely crushed. It's really sad when it happens anywhere, but it happened to a member of my college family so I feel it a lot more. I feel absolutely terrible for his parents, friends, and the college community

Did my usual lakes ride late afternoon. Weather was too iffy yesterday (tired of getting rained on). Seemed like just a few days ago I was seeking shade at Lake Harriet to cool off and today it was trying to find a sunny spot at Lake Calhoun to try and warm up.

Here's my "sightings" for @NWICY:

Mile 6: Passed gal with goosebumped calves. It was a little cool out.
Mile 7: Passed several bikes on way up the Calhoun/Harriet hill. I am a pretty weak hill climber. If you are half my age and I pass you on a hill you are a pathetic biker.
Mile 9: Basenji sighting! I love basenjis. Gave them a shout out as I biked by. Pretty sure they thought "Crazy old coot."
Mile 10: 1960's vintage French Citroën 2CV. Very cool. That's a car, BTW.
Mile 11: The smell of fried seafood from the Lake Calhoun lakeside grill.
Mile 21: Stopped to talk with neighbor gal about wine, cheese, pugs, pine tree needles, autoimmune disease, gluten, Monsanto, Ken Burns, allergies, basenjis, pet hospitals, biking etc. Anyone taking notes would probably have had their head explode. Good stuff.

So I decided to pull the p-trap out from under the sink in the master bath, because it had been draining very slowly. It was the old style chromed steel drain, and there was some corrosion at the fittings. Long story short, I ended up having to sawzall the drain pipe apart, and run to the store to get a new (PVC) trap. And you wouldn't believe the mess I found in there.....

Suffice it to say I know now why you don't see plumbers chewing their fingernails. I'm glad I know enough to do little home repairs like this, but some of these are just.......ugh.

The weather was odd on Saturday. We had a tennis tourney in Woodbury. It rained hard on the way down but there was no rain in Woodbury. I checked the radar and it had been raining south of there, too. The weather was alternately hot or cold depending upon where we sat and if the sun was out.

At the tournament, I started talking to a couple from Centennial High who's daughter was playing on the next court. It turns out that the wife went to college with my wife and they did a major project together. They also went to junior high together for one year. The husband was friends in college with a current friend of mine. My daughter and her partner were trying to figure out why we were talking so loudly and so much to the parents of somebody on another court.

Great tennis meet. The daughter brought home the gold in her doubles bracket.

Busy day Saturday followed by a relaxing Sunday. Took LittleWx to Meet Thomas the Tank Engine in Boone. He is a lot like me in unknown places or around people he doesn't know and had little emotion that day but kept saying he had fun. I would say that is confirmed by the fact that he keeps talking about it.

Babywatch: Nothing too interesting other than I need to get my hair cut soon so I am not battling bed head in the hospital.
