@BoxsterCy I'm disappointed there were no cross country updates from you. Men got second in the Big 12 championship yesterday and the ladies won, I believe, their 5th of the last 6 Big 12 championships.

Saw that but have found nobody other then me cares so did not post a thread on it like I have done in the past.

It's not like CG's kickball with a forum full of fans. :)

The machine at Lowe's can match paint really well. I've used them for matching a color for one of my walls that was a pain to match. They got it just right.

We are not talking matching an existing color, we are talking about matching CG's expectations for hue/tone/intensity under different light conditions.

Sounds like they stole poo-pourrri's idea. That stuff is the greatest thing in the world. Maybe they should have trademarked it.

And as DH knows, it's impossible to ever match CG's expectations.

Oh, hell no. Even God could not make enough swatches for that.

I went with two gray shades* for my garage after those posts. If CG ever comes to the cities I hope she will stop over and pass judgement. She has a very discerning eye for such things and her approval would be awesome (or soul crushing if she said the colors suck).

* One a little darker then dead mouse gray and one a little lighter. So MANY grays to work off of: the concrete floor gray, the waterproof block paint gray, the side door gray, the dead mouse gray, the Audi Monsoon Gray and the Boxster Metallic Meridian Gray.

I will note that picking a color for the bathroom involved less hand-wringing.

We've only gotten four gray samples for the main rooms. And two of those are the same color that I had a different place do because the first came out so differently from the chip. And I'm pretty sure we've got a color. So we're getting better, haha.

Most people don't know what their kids for sure will look like.

But when they've had Marty and he's the exact same age and looks the exact same as some stranger named Marty they met 30 years ago, they're not thinking "hey, you know, our son looks EXACTLY like the guy that hooked us up with the same name when we where in high school...."

After hearing some of y'all's horror stories of dealing with your children, If you're in the Ames area I will gladly come over and babysit so you can have a parents night off.

Probably going to Iowa for Thanksgiving and I'm debating going to the BBall game on 11/24.

Ummmm, I'm pretty sure that game is in Orlando, Florida, but I'm sure the kids would enjoy Disney world. :)

GTO, any thoughts about going to MBB at TCU on Jan. 14th? I'm thinking the seats for that would be better than my seats in Hilton (though not as cyclone friendly)

CG, when do we get party updates? your paint post earlier seemed pretty coherent, no fireball last night?

Was actually a very tame party, which was good. ladies loved the bathroom color, one called the sunroom lemony custard and I yelled at her that it's supposed to be buttery and she's like well it's not. She and her husband gave us their opinion on the two gray choices and said the same as what dh and I had been thinking. our UK friend got a job in NJ. so we are glad that she's staying in the states post phd but sad that she's going to be far away :(
