Woot woot. Fence contractors came and dug 14 footings and placed the posts today. Was a little surprised they dug everything by hand but it sure was less disruptive to all of my ground cover and plantings. It's going to look awesome.

That just sounds like heck. I dug 10 holes, with 3 neighbors, for our deck. For nine of them we used a power auger (one was in a corner and we couldn't use the auger there) and it was difficult enough. I suppose that fence posts don't need to be 48" deep, though.

With the 5" shorts, you're going with the really old school Dad stuff. Nowadays, cool dads wear cargo shorts and justify them because the extra pockets are practical (they really are!). For sure, you need a golf-themed baseball cap.

One of the high school kids last year wore relaxed-fit, faded jeans, oversized, gray sweatshirt, golf hat, white New Balances, cheater glasses and had a Baby Bjorn carrier. He also added a little paunch (sp?) to his belly. It took me a little while to figure out what he was and that he was basically making fun of me and my peer group.

I'm in immigration law and today we're going to learn about diversity visas. These are visas by the U.S. government which go to nationalities which are underrepresented in the U.S. immigration system (or at least that's how I think it works). Our assignment for today was to listen to a "This American Life" story about one of the winners of this lottery. It's an hour, but I just listened to it and it was really good.
