My generation has been traumatized by the movie IT. To this day I will avoid sewer drains at all costs

Bruh. Were you even born when It came out?

No, he was not. Source: I was not either.

I watched this with my sons, who were around 11, 12, 13 at the time that it first aired. Despite their "advanced" age and the inner need for boys that age to be "tough", we spent quite a bit of the time huddled together on the couch. And we watched a lot of scary stuff together. Tim Curry's insidious portrayal of Pennywise simply can't be topped.

I don't know why they are remaking IT. IT was perfectly terrifying the first time. But I guess people who love the book didn't like parts of it. So maybe the movie will be more true to the book than the TV movie.

Curry was stupendous though. Bill Skarsgard is a good actor, but no way he out does Curry. Not even close.

IT was the only Stephen King book that I quit reading. I was about 350 pages in and just gave up as it just wasn't taking me anywhere. Most King books had me hooked within the first few pages. IT never did.

Did you watch the movie? How did IT compare?

(Also, I'm going to capitalize every IT I type in this thread today. Isn't IT fun!)

Gonna try this this footgolf thing tomorrow. Likely to be terrible.

I've done it a couple times. It was pretty fun. I was surprised at how tired my leg got by the end, though.

Unless you're a soccer player, you really don't try to kick a ball a long distance repeatedly. It's almost like when you haven't thrown a baseball or a football in a long time and then throwing your arm out.

Is the course just on a golf course?

I liked both...but King books were pretty much hit & miss with me. For a while there he became obsessed with snot and other bodily fluids, and I got bored. I really like his short story compilations the best, followed by "The Stand".
