For those of you that know the song "I'm my own grandpa", one of my homework problems for Trusts and Estates was to determine how his estate would be divided if he died without a will

I've never handled an estate quite like that, but I did prosecute a guy who could be accurately called "Grandpa Daddy".

Two questions:
1.) were you prosecuting him for a sex crime or was that just a fun aside (because I'm not quite sure how to take that)
2.) And this is a legal nerd question: but was he actually trying to say he was married? I know a judge probably wouldn't have recognized it, but would a common law marriage have?

NWICY, what is the venue option in the twin cities? I've been to quite a few of them up there to give a decent comparison. I'd say MOST of them are much better than Sokol.

There's a concert at Sokol on Wednesday night that I may go to, I've been dragging my feet on buying a ticket, because my friends have volleyball that night and I'd be doing alone, more than likely.

First Ave. is my twin cities option. Last time I was at 1st. Ave. was many moons ago.

1) No fun asides. I was prosecuting him for the sex crime of incest.
2) He may have been holding himself out as being married to his daughter, with whom he was raising their child. Iowa does recognize common law marriage, but
Iowa's common law made incestuous marriages void.


As for jolly olde England common law, I don't think it would be recognized either.

I hit the grocery store the other day and withdrew $20 cash with my debit card on the purchase. For some reason I believe I tossed the cash in the sack with my food...no idea why I would have done that.

The cash is not in my wallet and I'm pretty sure I used that bag to collect turds when I cleaned out the litter box the other day. I aint digging it out of the trash can. The landfill just got a 20 dollar donation.

Found the 20 in my car, so that was good. However, minutes later wife informs me that she needs cash for the housekeeper that comes on Fridays. I might as well have coated that 20 with cat turds, as either way it's no longer in my possession...

Decided not to go to the ISU game this weekend. Too much rain here and too much rain there.

Fantastic way to start the weekend. Get home and my ceiling in my bathroom is leaking. The lady directly above me comes home and there is a bout an inch of water in her bathroom floor directly above mine.

She doesn't use that bathroom and her toilet didn't over flow or bathtub and no water under the sink so not exactly sure what the **** happened.
