I dropped the teenage girl off at school today and let her choose the radio station this morning. She got out of the car and a Ke$ha song came on. I kind of liked it. I know I shouldn't like it and it's not very good music but tell me why does Tik Tok have to be so catchy, dammit?

I'll just go and put this paper bag over my head for a while so that nobody recognizes me.

I felt the same way back in the day with Fresh Prince & "You Saw My Blinker, *****".

She comes from a family of 4 girls as well, they all got height. Somehow their German family genes are more tall than my German family genes.

As the Brits would say, that is a "proper colour" , British Racing Green. I couple guys in my HS had TR-3's in midst of the late '60's muscle car craze. I thought the hat was "cool." Maybe what got me wanting a sports car. Ended up with an MGB as my first auto.

I have no problem with it when I'm in the car with my daughter and I'm singing along and making up incorrect lyrics to embarrass her. It's just that when I'm in the car alone I really would prefer to listen to my music instead of hers.

I haven't yet embarrassed my kids with music, but I'm sure I will. They'll give me hell for my "old music" some day

I did get completely burned by Caleb, my 9 year old, this weekend.

I made a corny joke, as usual.

He rolled his eyes at me and said, "The baby needs to rest. And we need to take a rest... from your jokes."

I held my ice water up to my forehead to counteract that burn. I gave him a fist bump for it too.

I suppose it could be that old. All of her music sounds pretty much the same so it is tough to tell what's old and what's new.

Don't have a clue what she sounds like. One thing I have noticed recently - I alternate between my Pandora picks channel and KIOA on my computer at work. KIOA has been playing a LOT of Prince music since his death...and it reminds me again why I don't particularly care for him. Seriously, could he be any more lazy in his pitch on Little Red Corvette? OY!
