If you have your kleenex available, read CW's "Call to Action". I know some here have lost a child, and losing one to cancer is a personal fear. Earlier this summer we were asked to donate to a softball family who were heading up to Mayo when a yearly scan (having beaten brain cancer twice previously) showed new tumors on the younger sister of a player. This family was new to the team this year and I didn't know much about them other than the dad is a VERY proud dad, but seemed like a nice guy. After doing some FB stalking, I figured out that it was their daughter who CW wrote about a few years back when he did St. Baldrick's. Now the cancer is back and basically not much they can do for it.

Checked my bank account online this morning. Noticed a strange DEPOSIT on 7/25 in Clive Iowa. $370.00 credit to my account. Thought and pondered... No, I wasn't in Clive on 7/25. No, I wasn't expecting any credit/returns to that account.

Clicked on it and there were two checks totally $370 written by people I don't know to a person I don't know.

Called the 800 number. "Spanish.... Options... Other... Would you like to open an account? Blah blah blah." Decided I didn't want to wait on the line for 20 minutes for a mistake THEY made. Saw a "Contact Us" and sent off an email.

Just checked. 6 hours later they still haven't fixed it. Did get two automated emails apologizing for my inconvenience and providing me a 9 digit case number to give them should I want to contact them about the issue (Ha Ha).

There was a procession today from Milwaukee to Beloit for a MIA Airman who died in a plane crash in November 1952, near Anchorgae. He was on a C-124 along with 51 other crew members when radio contact was lost during a storm. Search efforts were made, but only the tail section was found.

4 years ago, the wreckage was found by the National Guard doing a training exercise. Since then the DoD has been identifying remains through DNA testing and making efforts to return them to their families.

made blueberry muffins for the rugrats.

They're kinda overdone. Oops. They'll still be good I think. But they are fairly large so the center should be ok - probably should have tried a lower oven temp but I was following the recipe exactly.

So it rained kinda hard here earlier. You'd think BCC was in town. Most of mulch from side garden path washed down the hill as the runoff from my neighbors yards flooded through my garden.

I asked about painting last week. Anyone have favorite brands of paint? Consumer Reports has a Behr kind as their best buy.......other stuff online seems to favor Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams. We are like, basically where Hallman Lindsay was founded and can get a discount but I don't see them mentioned much.

I used some Behr last year exterior. It did paint on really well and cover well. I believe paint is one of those items you get what you pay for. Don't really need the top $, but definitely stay away from the bottom. Good luck with your project.

So my award I won last year fell off my desk. It's glass and I couldn't catch it so I stuck my leg out to soften the blow. It didn't break, pretty tough glass. But it hit my shin and I can already tell it's going to be a massive bruise. I'm limping it hurts so freaking bad.
