Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

The following two conversations just happened:

I was eating some Corn Nuts.

Mrs. GTO: "Are those fried?"
Me: "I think they're toasted, but I'm not even sure if they are real corn."
Mrs. GTO: "That makes no sense. Why would anyone make fake corn?"
Me: "Candy corn?"

BAM! By my estimate, GTO 7, Mrs. GTO 344.

Second conversation:

Couldn't find the syringe for my son's antibiotic for his ear infection.

Me: "Where is the syringe? You were the last one to use it"
Mrs. GTO: "It's on the drying rack."
Me: "No, it's not. You're always misplacing everything!"
Mrs. GTO: "If I go and find it on the drying rack, what will you give me?"
Me (excited): "I get to pick?!"
Mrs. GTO: "Never mind. I should know better."

GTO 8, Mrs. GTO 344

She should get one point per score like soccer and you should get six like a football touchdown. Might help even the odds some.

News says you can vote on one of three choices for a new state fair food.

One choice......not your momma's taco!!

That seems so wrong.

I think I did sand volleyball right. Sucked, had fun and drank enough beer to at least cancel out any exercise.

I read tonight all the new fair foods being offered. I did not even think of the implications of that name.

Thanks BC.

Well fruit is sliced and in the fridge. Got a pan a brownies in the oven baking.

A little slow-paced. It jumps back & forth between two time periods 15 years apart, which was confusing until we finally figured out to look for the grey temples on Chiwelte Ejiafor.

It's rare that a movie fakes out both of us at the end....but this one did. And Julia Roberts was VERY good.

I'll have to watch it. It seem interesting from watching the preview when I first saw it.

Had myself talked out of ride, then made myself go got in 15 miles, better than couching it. Need to leave at 4:30 tomorrow morning to go to a meeting.

So Pants if you don't mind me asking what have you been doing? I didn't think you got a time out because I thought I saw a singular post in maybe a FB or BB thread.

My dad was admitted to the hospital last week. Things took a bad turn Saturday/Sunday and he passed away last night. Didn't really feel like myself, so I didn't particularly feel like posting.

Damn. So very sorry to hear that. Let me know if you need anything, even if it is just someone to talk to (like on the phone). And yes, soccer ******* sucks.

It's fine guys. I mean, I appreciate it, and thank you, but I only even mention it because I was asked. For those of you friends with me on Facebook, you can see all I posted was a fond memory with no mention of what happened.

Despite the "Drama Pants" thing, nothing bugs me more than people that go and make dramatic posts about that stuff. It just reeks of someone trying to get likes and comments on their page instead of actually caring.

Boxster did it right on Facebook, with just memorial pictures and such.

Couple of things I noticed while gone:

1. I agree with WDSM. Clonefan34 is probably BDK.

2. Very disappointed I missed "staunch Clinton supporter" Since78 shock the world and do the unexpected and switch his support to Trump.

KC, Pants, RGr8 - do you guys like movies like Cube, where a group of strangers wake up in some sort of misterious place, etc.? I watched a movie called Circle a couple of days ago that was pretty cool. No fancy special effects or anything and most of the movie just happens in one room, but it was a pretty good watch. Here is the trailer:

And I agree with that for the most part. However, when a friend tells me his father passed away, I'm going to express my sympathy. And mentioning why you were not here isn't an attention grabber, it's an explanation. :)

*and I STILL haven't been able to set my trip mileage!

I'm going to have to break down & stop by George White.

That intro made me dizzy! Yes - I do like those kinds of movies.

If you're a reader - check out "Strangers" by Dean Koontz. :)
