Random Thoughts VIII: The Ocho

I don't like Horror films. I was a bit concerned toward the end with the mean bats. She did alright.

Eh...I don't consider Halloween in all its iterations to be a classic horror film. Maybe a sub-genre (slasher). :)

I watched part of it, and none of the sequels. Slasher films aren't really my thing.

That's how I visited the state of New York for the first time.

I went up to visit a high school friend who married a Canadian. She had "landed immigrant status" in Canada at the time. Since I had never been to Niagara Falls (or New York) we decided to drive to the falls, cross the border, and come back (as a day trip). This was in the 1980's. We crossed the border, stayed in New York long enough for me to get out of the car and for her to take a picture of me under a "Welcome to New York" sign, then went back across the border. I remember confusing the hell out of the border agents on both sides when answering their typical questions of who are you, what is your business in Canada/USA, how long will you be staying/did you stay, etc. Try explaining that you are from the USA, you are going over to New York for 15 minutes, just so that you can say you've been in New York. :)
I saw Niagara Falls in the middle 70's. It is quite the sight. Once when we were flying to White Plains New York the plane went right over Niagara Falls. The pilot never said anything. I just happened to look out the window and notice it. Turned to the guy in the other seat and told him to check it out.

I went shopping this week to see some shirts for exercising. I think they were all made for tall people The material was great for the hot weather, but all of the back deigns did not work.

I've noticed that too - in regular clothing as well. Lots of back cutouts and really large arm holes

Side boob is in now. Get with the times.

If it's side boob, it's NOT in...it's hanging out. :)

CG & Rev - I know EXACTLY what you're talking about - the collars on halter were always too long...I would have to take a tuck in the back of it so that the fabric in the front actually covered what it was supposed to cover. :)

As a semi tall person with a fairly long torso, I feel like I have the opposite problem. I struggle to find shirts that are long enough to cover my waist.

The problem of mass production? I may stop by the men's section and see how those shirts look.

As a tall skinny person, buying clothes is the worst. Clothing manufacturers seem to think if you're over 6' tall you must weigh at least 250 lbs.

Another idea: Maybe old navy or athleta? I know they make short and tall versions of most of their clothing. I can find long tank tops at Lululemon, I just don't like paying Lululemon prices.

DH concurs. Long enough to reach his pants pockets? Space in the back for 60lbs of back fat. We went shopping for him last week and he was pointing out how ridiculous sizing has gotten. He's 6'2 and some brands a small was the best size.

For me it's not so much torso (because I too, hate short shirts) it's that the top comes so far down. Like major gaping around the armpits and having the back be so low that bras hang out. There was this cute VS maxi I looked at for vacation, but the back cutout when all the way down my back and I'm like this will not work

As a semi tall man, I have trouble finding shirts that are short enough to display my midriff. Sometimes I just have to tie a knot in the shirt to let it show.

I think pants are the worst. Stores have such a terribly small selection of pants for tall skinny men.
