Aug 11th is notorious for bad weather. The night/morning our 2nd daughter was born was stormy (and affected the ability to life-flight her to a NICU--she had to go 2hrs by ground ambulance instead). When she was 5 it flooded in Ames. Again this year with the heavy rain on her birthday.
Dang. Glad she was okay. The day Ames flooded was a mess. I was staying with the fiance in SUV and we couldn't get to the stadium for work. I don't remember how we ended up getting there. I had to work a soccer practice the night before and we just barely got done before the rain started. It just started pouring and I could barely see driving up Stange.
We had been to the pool the day before and water was already creeping up in the parking lot before the heavy rains overnight. We were going to go to Perfect Games for her birthday and soon every route there was closed. I think hubby had made it out of town in the morning, but had to come home after work up through Gilbert. We lost electricity later in the day and it was freaking hot out. She likes to have memorable birthdays.
Since there was no water they had to bus the players to Nevada and Gilbert (I think) to shower after practice. I felt sorry for those bus drivers. My wife was a manager and for at least a few days they had to take all of the players workout and practice clothes to a Boone Laundromat twice a day to wash them.
Boss said to go for it and that he understands!
My lunches during trash day are interesting since I clean out the fridge.
Today I have 3 pieces of sushi, some leftover mac and cheese, roughly half of a barbecue beef sandwich with several bites out of it, and some blueberries that have seen better days but are not yet fuzzy.
I need some milk that is 3-4 days past its expiration date and questionable to wash this all down.

Seems complicated. If you want the belly ache just put the lime in the coconut and drink all down.
The odd combination is working so far.

Sigh, I should have known this would already be a thing. Google squashes my dreams yet again.
My wife rarely if ever eats leftovers so I sometimes end up with lunches like this as well. Then of course she says "that is such a gross combination" to which I reply "it all ends up in the same place". At least she is not as bad as her aunt who can't have her food touch (ie baked beans can't touch the potato salad) and eats everything in sequence so she finishes one thing before moving on to the next. I just sit there at pot lucks with stuff piled on top of each other and say "hey I don't have to make a second trip".

Call it "Leftouvres". You can market it as being French or continental or whatever the fancy places are spinning it as today.
