heartbreaker tonight, sad face.
First time up, I got on first time (just barely) and then next guy kicked DH and I home. I ran each time after that but they threw fast and I'd be out like 1 foot from base.
We were down 5-7 bottom of 7th and first guy got on, then DH went and got on. So I go up and kicked, but it didn't cross the line so I waited to get the strike but it crossed the line and IDK why, I was like well too late to run I'll take the strike. Catcher had her back turned grabbing the ball, and I realized ****, pitcher is coming, this is in play so I took off. I damn near made it and everyone is like great fake out! I'm like it wasn't fake! I wasn't going to run! But, it got guy on 3rd home, so 6-7, DH on second, 1 out. Next girl goes and they like got in her way or something and she got first, DH to third. Guy comes up.....but it popped too much. It was a good kick but they had this girl who was catching every damn thing. It went straight to her. So he was out but DH was going for home. They got it across the field and got DH as he was hitting home. Sad times.
I had two catches (including one really high kick) and a couple drops. Several catches where it was just too long for the throw to get to me and the runner was just safe. I was also ****** because I threw it at a guy from like a foot away and it ******* touched his shirt, I saw it. And he went on to 2nd. I was so ****** because it then made it look like I made a stupid move to not hold him at first, but I ******* saw it. We might switch me off first since I'm not the best, sad face. But I think putting me between 1st and 2nd would be good, because I'm decent at catching, it's the movement afterward. And someone with longer arms might get the ball faster. DH did agree that the one pitcher was slow to decide where to throw the ball, so that wasn't helping me. Plus I'll be gone for two weeks so someone needs to play there.
No meow friend update, she's on vacation. We don't play next week so no more kickball until June. Crazy.
This post gave me a headache.
Not really, but I do have one. I'm going to bed.
