Someone who says "stealing isn't really a crime" clearly doesn't know what stealing is, or doesn't know what a crime is. It's scary to think there are college-bound adolescents who don't grasp these concepts.

Kids do bad things all of the time knowing that they're bad, for various reasons. That's beside the point; I'm talking about not knowing that something is bad.

And there's a huge difference between "bragging about my deeds" and discussing my experience many years after the fact to help you understand what I'm talking about.
I know people that do way worse things like car hop, sell drugs, do acid, and stealing bottles. "Stealing" pumpkins is nothing.

FIFY. Is it as bad, no. Those other things are a lot worse, but what you're doing isn't "nothing", and it doesn't mean you should do it.

So the Nancy thing got me to look up my name. Boxster is even more out of vogue, at least as spelled for me, than Nancy. Like 150 people with my name the year I born. 5000 with the alternate spelling which explains everyone always misspelling it I guess.

The name thing got me interested, and my name doesn't seem very popular, so I looked it up. I was right, its not.

You're right, it's not a big deal compared to other crimes, but that doesn't change that it's A) wrong, and B) a crime.

And why do you say "stealing" in quotations like that? Do you think it's not actually stealing? You took someone else's property, that they paid for, without their permission. That's stealing.

again if it's a "crime" why'd did they sent a parking police officer instead of a real one?

You are working very hard to either not follow my point, or exaggerate your interpretation of my comments to suit your argument. That's been your MO in the past as well.

Either way, I just don't have the energy to deal with it today, so shall we just drop it & agree to let it lie?

Traffic officers are real police, first of all, and they were probably sent because it was a traffic issue (you put the pumpkins in the road) and because "regular" police have more serious things to than deal with high school kids who need to be taught a lesson.

That doesn't mean that stealing pumpkins isn't a crime. It is.

You sound a little salty, did someone steal your pumpkins?

So WDSM, you and Fitzy make out all the time. I'm assuming the Cotton-Moya injury is what was being discussed that couldn't be talked about in the thread that was shut down the other day?

I'm sure I will but right now I look at it as something that's funny.

When I was a kid and did dumb things, I thought they were funny, too. That's one of the reasons I did them. It took other people explaining that they weren't funny, but were actually very, very stupid, to make me fully understand and regret them.

It sounds like you might have gotten lucky; if the police really wanted to, I'm sure they could have given you a court date and you'd be talking with a juvenile probation officer right now rather than a message board. Have a good laugh while you can, and appreciate that you didn't get in more serious trouble. Just because you got away with something doesn't mean that it's not wrong and that you'll continue to get away with things.
