dodgeball schedule is out and we start our six week schedule next week. Playoffs go through January. Holy cats. I knew the holidays extend it, but yikes.

I got your back, BDK.

I might have some free time tonight and a baseball bat, in case you want to join me in destroying people's Halloween decorations. We can then hit McD's after that. Let me know.

well, you can go to McD's. He'll have to wait outside.

What do you think they do there at the Mac-Donald's? They don't drink milkshakes, I assure you!

I know that people who have committed crimes can gain admission to the bar. I was just saying law school might not be a good fit for someone who doesn't recognize the criminality of theft. It...kind of suggests a fundamental misunderstanding of criminal law.

Fairly typical for that age...but should not be used as an excuse.

One advantage of living in a small town...one of our boys boosted a pair of shoelaces from the local store & got caught. Chief called me at work, and I went down to talk to them. We took him back to the store to apologize, owner had him do chores for a week as punishment (don't remember what - mopping or stocking shelves or some such thing). Bottom line, he didn't do anything like that again...which is a good thing, because if he had gotten away with that, and little things escalated to bigger things like they did with some of his friends, he'd be serving time right now instead of serving as a captain in the USMC.

A lot of teenagers have only a vague understanding of consequences. It's up to the adults in their lives to explain/demonstrate those consequences.

Good thinking, you will probably be thirsty after not stealing/not vandalizing other people's property. I'm preeety sure they have to give you free water at McDonalds.

Dude, you need to be inflating your escape raft and getting the lifejackets on your kids. Don't bother with 2015, pretty sure he will on some cougars big boat.

Wasn't cstrunk grumping about needing rain or something? I'd blame him for any flooding stuff.

Houston going to be street surfin again.

hey mctall, want to do me a solid and get me a preapproval for the TSA thing too? I don't travel too often but you know, may come in handy.

I sure hope it's not typical. He used the word "steal", so he obviously knows that what he did was theft...what's scary is that his comment suggests that he doesn't think there's anything wrong with it, or that it's not against the law.

My friends and I weren't perfect angels in high school either, but at least we knew that what we were doing was bad. And when we were caught or confronted about it, our reaction wasn't to downplay it by saying "aww, big deal, there's nothing wrong with egging houses" or "underage drinking isn't a crime".

Question- There's a student section season ticket on sale on craiglist if I bought would I be able to use it if im not a student?

Men's Basketball
Student entrance to Hilton Coliseum is through the North doors only. Students must present their valid ISU Card to be scanned for admission.

You should probably move to Seattle or Ireland.

That said, we did actually needs some rain.

Agreed, but I saw a neighbor watering their lawn yesterday, which is ridiculous since A) anyone who looked at the forecast and saw a 90% chance of rain wouldn't water their lawn, and B) the grass is pretty much done growing for the year.

I was thinking about mentioning that rain was expected, but this being Minnesota, I figured their head might explode if someone directly confronted them about something rather than leaving a passive-aggressive note on their door.

You'll see me on the news getting airlifted from the roof of my house.

My neighbors water their lawn while it's raining...smart people.

Saw the neighbors sprinklers going on yesterday and was also thinking WTF but than realized they were just blowing them out for the winter. Explained the big ole compressor parked out front.

This is the phrase I was responding to...not BDK's use of the word steal.

If you knew what you were doing was bad, why did you do it? Is it possible that your memory of how you talked about it is just a wee bit fuzzy?

BDK didn't get caught, so he's bragging about his deeds...which is similar to what you're doing here. He experienced some consequences from the McD's incident, but clearly learned little from it. If he doesn't straighten up and his activities escalate, it's going to smack him upside the head in a pretty big way sometime down the road.

Someone who says "stealing isn't really a crime" clearly doesn't know what stealing is, or doesn't know what a crime is. It's scary to think there are college-bound adolescents who don't grasp these concepts.

Kids do bad things all of the time knowing that they're bad, for various reasons. That's beside the point; I'm talking about not knowing that something is bad.

And there's a huge difference between "bragging about my deeds" and discussing my experience many years after the fact to help you understand what I'm talking about.
