Yeah. Then I'm getting bashed for being a negative poster that can't say anything positive about Campbell. Despite the fact that's pretty much all I've done is said positive things about him. In fact, I'm usually guarded on my expectations and how I feel about hires and don't publically state them, but this one I've come right out and said I think is a good hire, that's how confident I am about it. But because I said it's cheesy to say "it's not about the money" when you just got a 1.5 million dollar pay increase, I'm the ******* that hates the guy.

I truly think it's the knuckleheads that only come around for coaching searches. Although that one was a regular, it's like when I said I didn't like the idea of Fleck because I thought he was too far over the top on his 'personality' and wanting someone more along the lines of Fred, I was accused of wanting to stick with ol' stick in the mud Paul.

I knew what you were saying, and while I don't know one way or another, I do know there are people that truly don't care about money.

Pantsy you are just jealous that he got a better bonus than you. ;)

Just by a little bit.

Hey, I get it, there are people that love what they do, and Coach Campbell seems like one of those guys. But it's never not about the money. It's always at least a little about the money. If it wasn't, you'd volunteer to do it for free. Or in his case, he'd at least do it for the same rate he did at Toledo if it wasn't a little about the money. And there's no shame in it being at least a little about the money. We all want to be able to take care of ourselves and our family, and in this world, money is at least a large portion of how we do that. I just hate that line any time it's used.

Agreed. They usually go by the term "unpaid volunteer."

we've had this before and I'm going to go look at those threads, but favorite Fitbit? I never got one and had leaned toward the 1, but now I'm wondering if I'd prefer the watch type and one with HR.

For coaches and players it is money and just pure competitiveness. From what I have been told Chizik originally was not going to take the Auburn job but the money got to a point where he felt if he failed (somewhat foreshadowing) his family would be set for life. Not to mention that they always feel that they can do better.

I don't know what the functionality of the watch is like, and how accurate the HR meter is. I use a stopwatch everyday at work, so that keeps me to the Fitbit Flex (the basic model with the five flashing lights). I also work in healthcare, so checking HR is second nature. I would make sure to do research as to how accurate it is in measuring that. That being said, if all you're looking for is a difference in HR from resting to exercise level, I'm sure it would be a fairly good device to monitor that.

Pretty much. You can love what you do, absolutely, and lots of people do. But as soon as you star doing it for compensation in return, you then love that you get paid to do what you do.

I want to get promoted because I feel it shows that I was better at my position than anyone else was. But it would be a bold faced lie if I told you I'd do that new promoted job for the same pay I'm making now.

one of the fitbit's was like a 16% error rate in the ISU test, which was about the best of the non-research ones tested. But yes, it'd mostly be resting to exercise. The Charge HR is what I am looking at now.

Looks like a good model. High reviews all around. Have you tested for fit? Is the watch functionality what you'd like it to be? How bulky is it?

they had a thing to cut out and size your wrist. Looks like the small would have plenty of room. But that's a good idea to stop and try them. I have to run to Target tonight...wonder if they have them there. Could try them out quick.

I have the charge hr and really like it. I needed a watch anyway and the heart rate monitor is really nice to have. It's also been fairly durable. If that's the one you're looking at, I'd recommend it.

Edit: and I just saw the part about trying it out. My mom got an hr at the target up here (the Hilldale one) and was wondering what size to get. They let her open the box at the checkout and try the small on to make sure it was the right size.

yeah I don't have a watch right now so I find that appealing as well. Do you use the sleep part at all? Or sync it with anything like MFP or your phone?

got my volleyball tickets purchased!
