OK, since this is pretty much now the CF women's thread, plus 00 and pantsy, I'm just going to ask a girly centric question...

Anyone ever shop on Etsy? And what for? I have browsed, but never bought, but an Adam Savage (guy from mythbusters) podcast got me thinking about it again (it was questions from Etsy users for Adam). Just curious if anyone's ever actually shopped there and what they got. I've seen lots of cool stuff, but never actually bought.

I don't visit the site, but one DIL has an Etsy store, and is doing very well with it. It's a good thing for her...she gets to work from home. With four kids, ages 8 (almost 9) down to 19 mos, that's huge. :)

She sells templates for customized, themed children's party favors (invitations, name cards, thank you notes, etc). She now has hired an employee and is branching out into actually making the favors and shipping them. Boggles the mind what people will buy!

I purchased a guest book and some favors for my SIL's baby shower. I purchased from two different sellers, and it went smoothly. My feeling about purchasing from Etsy would be like purchasing from eBay. Buyer beware/mileage may vary/etc.

saw a house for sale in an area we like. Decide to google the owners. ISU grads! Both of them! Cool! Let's buy their house!

They filed for divorce within a week of our wedding. Now I has a sad.

10 days seems like a lot.

Yes it does. Poor guy is miserable. We did not have a very fun weekend.

Unfortunately, every time he thinks about yacking, he makes himself feel worse.

He's going to have a rough first few years at ISU in the future.

A divorced couple selling their house is an advantage to you as a potential buyer. They probably don't want to deal with the hassle of owning something with their ex-spouse so I imagine the are willing to sell at a low price.

The divorced guy down the street from me does not fit this mold. The house has been on the market for well over a year, but is still overpriced. I'm guessing he's upside down in it.
