I bet it's harder to get season tickets for their volleyball team than their football team. That's what I would want to watch there; their venue is supposed to be awesome.
same. The worst is when you had friends/cousins over and they'd take 20 minute showers or longer. And because you were kind, you let them go first. The rest of us fought over who got to go next because the person going last knew they were going to get a cold shower.
99 times out of 100 I go into the store and get distracted. I can't say how many times I have gotten home to realize I forgot the thing I originally had intended to buy.

I thought about getting tickets to that too, but decided against it. They're not bad, but they're kind of going off of past reputation right now. They've got actual sand volleyball teams too, which I'm curious about. Their men's sand volleyball team actually lost in the championship?
But yeah, I got season football tickets for 75 bucks. So, it's not exactly the best show in town, to say the least...
So was mine. I too had my own room at age 16. It was in the basement, had no windows, and I had to help build it myself, but it was MY room. I got one of those cheap 8' x 10' rugs for Christmas that year and so the concrete floor was not icy cold. Also, we had no A/C yet, so even though it was cooler than upstairs in the summer the humidity often felt like you were sleeping between wet towels instead of sheets.

I couldn't quite tell! Concrete floors would not be nice though. Hey, no a/c in our house either. As we were talking yesterday about room sizes and two sinks in a bathroom, I started referring to our future kids as "those spoiled brats". They're going to have carpet from their generation, a bathroom not used by an entire farm family, a/c, and quite possibly their own room!
I saw the room my dad lived in til he was 5-6 and it was about an 8x10 that they put the two boys in bunks on one side, the one daughter in a twin, and the youngest in a crib. All in the same room! I bet they were excited to move to the main farm house (where I lived as well). Boys got to share a room and girls got their own.
The house I moved out of 3 years ago had original polyester carpet still in the basement and guest bedroom. House was built in 1979, I think, so that was 30 year old stuff. The basement looked bad, especially where it faded next to the walkout sliders, but the orange/yellow shag in the guest bedroom was pretty much perfect. I actually saved it after it was replaced (to sell the house) and it's in my current basement/music/record room (again to cover bare concrete).
I kind of think sometimes maybe all the carpet germ-o-phobia isn't somewhat ginned up by the flooring industry to get people to change it out. I don't think we ever got sick from "bad" carpet.
Then the same people who wretch at the thought of carpet want some piece of "industrial" something for a coffee table or lamp or storage - think of all the chemicals that thing has absorbed over the years in a factory! Oh well, styles come and styles go.
yeah, we survived, though the carpet was probably too thin to hide poisonous stuff by the time we moved in, haha. I figure having the softness/quietness for when zhe spoiled children are little will outweigh any dangers. Plus we'll make them eat dirt and stuff to build their immune system.
To be fair, I ate dirt as a kid, and have ridiculously good immunities. But I don't recall having my mom forcing me to eat it. Interesting plan, Cowgirl!
well I didn't mean serve it up on a plate, just not run too fast when they chew on their dirty fingers. And really, who are you to judge? I didn't realize serial killers made good parents.
FORMER serial killer. And they make excellent parents. Do whatever they have to so their child is safe, always clean and organized, very meticulous, and understand the value of dedication and hard work.
All right, because of this thread I made strawberry rhubarb pie tonight. It was my second time making a pie, and I guess my question for the lurking pie experts is how thick should the pie crust be? To me it seems like I stretch it pretty thin just cover the pie plate. Secondary question, do you guys/gals strip the rhubarb before cooking it?
