Arg. Warm weather is the trigger for people with 'issues' to start the phone assault, asking for help with imaginary insects - - usually somehow living on or in their body or a family member's body.

It's been a long week.

ha, I haven't even started yet!

Really? This is a done deal then! Grab the pen and start signing!

I was a flipping mess when picking my first home. I had choices 1 and 1A. Both great little places but I just about went nuts trying to pick one. The ex finally picked. ..and that was that.

But seriously. ....I was a mess!

ha, I am glad that somebody feels confident about this decision!

Is the the right time of year to feed my hubby the de-wormer?

def yes on 1st and last, I think so on marketable - nothing weird about it, and interest rates have gone from 4.5 to 4.0 in the two months we've been looking so I'm like WE MUST BUY BEFORE THAT GOES AWAY!

It's $15k over our original budget but our agent thinks we can bring that down $5k or so, which is good. We just didn't immediately feel like ZOMG, this is our home! Like everybody says, but it's so great for us and I think a lot of what was off-putting at first are their paint colors and cabin/southwest-esque decor theme. Obviously both SUPER easy to change......considering they're taking all the bear/Indian rugs with them. It feels so comfortable in the house and they have such a nice backyard. Now I'm talking myself into it. I think it's the right choice, it's just TERRIFYING.

I think my husband's biggest thing is now we'll be adults who have to mow a yard!

Don't think about the colors and stuff you can change fairly easily. Does it have most of the other things you want, or is there things you can change over time to possibly make it what you want? What potential does it have?

That is how I try to look at it anyways.

the biggest non-changeable thing is that the future kids' bedrooms are a bit tight. Anything else could be changed easily - like paint and flooring. We've turned down other nice houses cause we didn't get that "this is home" feeling - just felt completely unexcited walking through. This one we got a little excited but not quite the "this is our home" feeling. Which I think is mostly due to paint and decor which is what I'm trying to ignore and just see the potential. We had joked with our realtor in our first meeting that if we could just buy a house down the street from our apt, that would be great (we love our location). This house is 1.5 miles away (and 1.5 closer to our jobs) - which puts it just outside of the super high city tax rate. It's absolutely 95% of what we want. It's just whether or not we ignore that we didn't 100% get "that feeling" walking through.

Holy cow I get told some personal stuff. Stuff I did NOT need to know. And then the samples roll in. My favorite so far was the collection of earwax in an old sliced deli meat plastic container. It's all so bizarre that I just kind of stare at it in wonderment. My desk is a perpetual mess. I was actually throwing stuff out while it was on a boring conference call the other day and found the lime deposits carefully wrapped in a tissue from a prisoner who says bugs live in the water system at a jail. Ahhhh, the memories encapsulated on my desk.

boy, that is interesting.

also, this house is wired for music throughout (why???) and I just told DH that I'm going to turn it to a country station and sing country songs all day.

Don't think that offer is going through now. :wideeyed:

Is it not ok to ask "why" when your wife asks you to vacuum the house. I should have known the answer to that one by now.

We used to have a lady vacuum, dust, and clean the bathrooms once a week. It was pure gold. Then she went a nutso and stopped showing up. Why is it so dang hard to find a relatively normal, trustworthy, non-klepto person to do this!? We paid dang good money. *sigh*
