I think I need to switch my garden space and my lawn space. My lilies, hostas & dianthus are encroaching on the yard (which is kind of patchy anyway due to our location), and I just spent 2.5 hours pulling grass out of my garden. Why can't they stay where they are planted?

Funny you should say that. Hubby is out there bricking in the fireplace that he installed in the retaining wall/rhubarb patch. He scrounged some wooden cable spools, tipped them over and stuck a couple of old beach umbrellas in them. They're under the canopy of a small grove of mulberries & walnuts. Not quite a fire pit & a funky pergola, but it suits us.
