I'd do fall. October fall color is okay around the lakes and Miss River. Come to a Boxster game watch. Totally baby friendly if afternoon game. :)

Won't be any other CF peeps there since CyRocks was deported to D.C. :( Oh, maybe NWICY, but not the TC peeps. KC and Papa Lew made an appearance once.

Hey depending on kick off I do pretty good at making it just depends if work gets done in time.

Bad to medicare? :D

******* spell check..."mediocre".

Combine my slight dyslexia with spell check and if I am not really careful there will be something to correct in half of what I post (unless I really focus on editing). :(

Wherever I go, there I am.
Based on the trailer and reviews I think it is going to suck. I added it to my watch list anyway because of my axiom that "Bad to mediocre sci-fi is better than no sci-fi at all."

That's kind of what I was thinking. Sackhoff is a good actress, but from what I've seen in the first couple episodes, the writing is more than a little suspect. I think she keeps it from being worse than mediocre, but that's about it.

Hey. I've been to one game watch each of the last two years. The Texas one last year may not count since that wasn't really televised and there were about a million people there.

Party went well, baby loved the attention and did well. Last night he brought me a book and sat in my lap. Did it for an uncle and daddy today. It is the cutest darn thing and makes me think he's getting too big. But I love that he loves his books. He'll sit with them and chatter to himself for like 5-10 minutes now.

Hey Cities peeps, we may be going to your area for a long weekend to visit family. Could either go early Sept or later. Are fall colors nice in the area? Or when would you recommend visiting? Probably do outdoor stuff/nature that is stroller friendly. Maybe a beach but probably not much swimming, just sand and feet wet. Trying to decide whether to catch end of summer or wait for fall.
There won't be fall colors in September. For stroller friendly outdoor stuff, the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes would be good. Specifically Bde Maka Ska (formerly Lake Calhoun). It has a few beaches and a couple of playgrounds. There will be a lot of people there.

Minnehaha Park has the Falls and, if you go a couple hundred yards down from the falls, the creek gets pretty shallow so it's great for wading. At least it has been in the past. There's been so much rain this year I'm not sure anymore.

Any of the regional parks will have good walking trails. A few examples would be Elm Creek near me (it also has a man made swimming pond surrounded by sand that's immaculate), Theodore Wirth near Boxster, and Highland Park in Bloomington. Many of the regional parks will have the swimming ponds. Nevermind, it looks like they close on Labor Day.

The area near the Stone Arch Bridge is really nice for walking.

Stillwater is a really cool town to walk around in.

If you let us know what area you'll be in, we could probably narrow it down a bit.

Last week, I was in LA for training. I'd never been to LA. I guess it was mostly what I was expecting. It had really nice parts, really bad parts, really weird parts and terrible traffic. There were a lot more homeless than I was expecting and the tents on the sidewalks were something I'm not used to.

I'm 61 and my mom still treats me like I'm about 13.
I'm 51 and my mom still acts like she's 13. I don't mean that in a mean way. She's a blast for my kids to be with but you never know what she's going to say.

On the way to Iowa a couple of weeks ago, the kids and I were talking about Grandma. I said, "She's not exactly the kindly grandma that gets up early and makes pancakes for her grandkids." The daughter responded with, "Yeah. She's more so the kind of grandma that says she gets up at 8 but actually gets up at 10, goes into the bathroom for a half hour while talking and singing, and then comes out and complains about something."

Don't forget the Twins will be in the process of clinching the division in September, too. :D

We have had all kinds of hummingbird traffic at our nectar feeder the last few weeks. They are pretty social, they like to hover in front of the windows and look at us before landing on the feeder. Yesterday the vixen was refilling it, and a female kept hovering by the deck, even waiting close by while she hung it up.

Has anyone had experience with getting these little guys to land near or on you? I think that would be pretty awesome.

Now you're making me worry -- our two little ones (9 months and 20 months) are coming with parents in tow this week and next week for a couple of days both times. What are their stories about grandma and grandpa? I was asked Saturday if there were bubbles at Grandma's house. I know he meant soap bubbles to chase in the yard, but still....
