We've had anywhere from 2-5 in our woods out back ever since we've been here (2003), barred not great horned. We've seen them hunt but never this close up.
OOOOO!! First male goldfinch of the year out there right now!![]()
A good walleye is not to be underestimated.Have you ever had fresh halibut? Hands down winner for me.
Also fresh walleye is awesome....and that time is coming soon! My favorite spring supper is freshly caught walleye, ditch asparagus, and morels.
Same here, not a huge fan of salmon. Best tasting fish (IMHO) is red snapper.
We tried SO many times last spring!I want to get a picture of a male cardinal and a male goldfinch together at our feeder....how apropos would that be?

Rainbow trout, cleaned & floured & cooked in a small amount of oil in a cast-iron skillet over a fire built directly beside the river. No contest.I'm not a good cook but best fish I seriously ever had may have been a walleye I caught the same day and cooked over a fire with butter and lemon juice in foil.
So I just realized that all 3 characters from their respective commercials (the mom and 2 kids, the dad and daughter, and the Uber driver) are all getting gas at the same time.Reminds me of a series of commercials airing right now. I don't even remember what they're advertising, but it's moms or dads with kids in the car, just five or six vignettes per commercial. One of them is a dad and his daughter and several of her soccer teammates. The final shot is a gas gauge going from empty to full. Lew think's it's a commercial for Phillips 66.

And I realized today that the mom with the 2 kids who threatens to sew the backpack to the back is the one with the soccer ball.So I just realized that all 3 characters from their respective commercials (the mom and 2 kids, the dad and daughter, and the Uber driver) are all getting gas at the same time.
Gives it a tiny bit of crusting and holds in the moisture. It's not a heavy flour/egg coating like battering...just a quick dusting with flour, salt & pepper.I actually stopped flouring fish and really like it.
I don't keep fish any more but sometimes I'm reminded that it's seriously the best way to have it.
Been a long time for me too...used to camp beside the Entiat River in the Wenatchee Nat'l Forest in Central Washington when my boys were small.I actually stopped flouring fish and really like it.

ooooo...Sears just said there must have been "at LEAST a hundred", and that it was standing room only after the band got there. Bwa hahahahahaha!Heh...
Watching the news. The Hawkeye Huddle party was held in a bar. The Cyclone pregame party was held in a plaza. But the Hawkeyes are the better fanbase?![]()
They were probably waiting to release it when the tournament started. Didn't catch that, will have to listen more closely. And I realized today that the mom with the 2 kids who threatens to sew the backpack to the back is the one with the soccer ball.
Today is the first time I saw the Uber driver...love the banjo version of "Ode to Joy".![]()
You're right about all three vehicles at the gas station...cool tie-in!They were probably waiting to release it when the tournament started. Didn't catch that, will have to listen more closely.

Ponds going down. The frost line is leaving. Figured it was on the outs when some people in town announced they didn’t have water yesterday. Usually happens when the frost gets driven down.
