Work is going to start offering pet insurance. While it doesn't pertain to me I see the most comprehensive plan starts at $22 per pay period so $572 year. I'm not sure how many pets that would cover.

We have debated it but the price doesn't seem worth it to me.

Spent 1600 on a 3 year old cat for bladder surgery and 4 days in the ICU at ISU only to have the problem reoccur a few months later. That time we didn't catch the symptoms (all of them were all hiding because the grandkids were there for several days) so by the time we saw the symptoms he was already in renal failure and past the point of fixing it. Had another cat that was on hypertension meds for the last 3 years of his life (he lived to 17 years old). If that amount covered all 6 cats I might consider it. If it's $22 PER PET, no way. I'd rather take the occasional financial hits with a less-than-healthy pet.

A LOT depends upon how you view your pets though. To me (and by extension, PapaLew) Smudgy & Fritz were worth it. Those of you who are FB friends, Smudgy is the lapcat wanna-be in my cover photo...nearly 20 lbs of long-haired black cat.

Did you take the scenic route through Hawaii Kai and around the windward coast?
We went north out of Honolulu to the north shore and then took Kamehameha all the way to fresh catch, but wanted to hit diamond head before it closed so we cut across on 61 or 6. Went to hanauma bay this morning so we caught a bit more of that area.

What little information they supplied doesn't mention # of pets. There is a conference call on it next week. I'll wait until then and ask someone that attends it. Either that or attend it myself just to see. It's better than actually working

Diamond Head is a rather boring hike, but the views up top are gorgeous.

Got off work and had a text from my dad that my grandma was at the ER at Mary Greeley. Headed over there and this morning she fell in her apartment. My dad said she may have had a minor heart attack. This is all I need as 5 years ago this week I lost my maternal grandma. She was in stable condition when I left and apparently the cardiologist came by after I left so should know more soon.

So sorry for your loss of one grandmother and health issues for the other. Will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Dad said the cardiologist said that her heart isn't pumping as hard as it should so they are going to keep in hospital through the weekend.

You know you've got bad internet at home when the free internet at the hotel is way quicker than yours. Yes Frontier phone and internet are terrible. Remember this CyclonesRGr8 if you ever start up your consulting gig.

everything still covered in ice on way home tonight. Someone on our street has some river birches in the front yard. One was bent down to the ground. Pretty sure that one's a goner.
