Worst car trouble? Husband wants to trade cars for the day because he needs bigger car to haul people to out of town work meeting. I have first baby and taking him to two week old appointment. I ask if his car has plenty of gas? He assures me I will get there and back with plenty to spare. Driving down Ingersoll on way to doctor, car runs out of gas. So I am walking in snow with the two week old baby and kind of physically exhausted anyway from giving birth recently. The return trip of six blocks uphill in the snow with both the full gas can and the floppy headed two week old baby was just a joy.

how many times during that walk did you stab your husband in your mind?

Well we had many boys after that, so no. The man can help the kids with freaking proof calculus and quantum mechanics but can't make sure the car has gas for his wife and infant child in Iowa in February.

It sounds like you have your answer.

Find a way to take it. Employers don't reward people for not taking vacation, as much as we'd like to think to the contrary.

I'll see how it goes weather-wise next week. Don't want to skip out when I could be working. I think what I have left will rollover to next year if I don't use it, can't remember what my boss said. I don't think he even knows I already took one day a while ago.
