I don't remember the last time I was actually sick. Had a head cold okay but physically sick I couldn't tell ya.

I think it's only been head colds for me as well, albeit with a couple nasty ones. Might have to try some cold medicine this time.

Full on adulted last night. Put up the Christmas Tree and then bought new vertical blinds for the back door since ours have been broken for at least 9-10 months.

No matter what happens today I will not have as bad of a day as one person I saw on my way to work. Their spare tire went flat in the middle of rush hour traffic.

It would be really hard for you to pass along an illness to someone else then, wouldn't it? That certainly seems like a positive and commendable quality, doesn't it @cowgirl836 ?

What is the point of having a ******* out of office message if the person you direct me to is out of the office and then the person they direct me to is out of office as well.

It must have been an adulting kinda night. I got home, scalped and bagged the lawn (that mower is staying in the garage til spring, dammit), grilled brats for dinner, finished putting up Christmas lights and then ran to the store for a few random things after my daughter went to sleep.

That spare tire thing would've sucked. I've been pretty fortunate to have car break-downs occur during times when I'm not really pressed for time. Probably the worst was having a dead battery (wouldn't even take a jump) at work and missing one of my daughter's soccer games.

asked about work dinner, purely social. Was told they'd love to have me but not if I'm sick. So that's good. Wanted to be sure before I skipped - sometimes those dinners are more than just social.

worst car trouble is probably when my battery died across town picking up the wedding programs on my way home for our wedding. DH was at work 45 minutes away. Got to walk to a grocery store to get some baking soda, water, and a toothbrush. Battery had some corrosion issues. That helped, but still needed a jump. Very nice guy saw my defeated face and offered to help. Between my lack of Spanish and his lack of English, we got it done.

Best part was I was dropping the car off that afternoon anyway to get work done. So car decided to get the last word.

It did the same thing again to Dh when we got my car and were taking my old one to my parents'. He got home late, so I had already gotten on the road. Car wouldn't start and he had to push it into position so he could jump it with his car. Again, that car got the last word on us.

We went to the barn wood store this weekend. I thought it would be horribly boring but the old wood and metal in this little warehouse was actually really cool.

So far we've put up shelves in the main floor bathroom and are planning on putting up some wood to hang the kids towel racks on in their bathroom and using some on the wall above the fireplace mantle. We also recently put up industrial-style lighting fixtures in our kitchen with those old-fashioned-looking Edison bulbs. Pretty soon our whole house will look like an old barn. Decorating trends are weird.

Worst car trouble? Breaking down driving to our honeymoon destination. Spent an unscheduled night just south of Indianapolis. Spent $400 of our wedding money to get a Nissan fixed at a GM dealership.

Where were we headed? Gatlinburg. :(

I rarely get sick, but when I do, it completely takes me out of commission.

Now if you want to count tweaking muscles in my back, since I'm apparently 85 years old, that happens all the ******* time.

hey, they invited us to some meetings tomorrow now. And I'm going to those!

Alternatively, you think I can convince Dh to let me be his stay at home wife if I get fired?

Worst car trouble? Husband wants to trade cars for the day because he needs bigger car to haul people to out of town work meeting. I have first baby and taking him to two week old appointment. I ask if his car has plenty of gas? He assures me I will get there and back with plenty to spare. Driving down Ingersoll on way to doctor, car runs out of gas. So I am walking in snow with the two week old baby and kind of physically exhausted anyway from giving birth recently. The return trip of six blocks uphill in the snow with both the full gas can and the floppy headed two week old baby was just a joy.
