Oh, I just figured it was the bell version of the same song. That would take quite a cadre of ringers as well.

I stand corrected...my apologies.

Much of what we play is adapted from choral music so it's understandable. We also play arrangements of classical pieces and "classic" pieces (we've been playing with an arrangement of the cantina theme from Star Wars). Tunes written specifially for bells are not commonly known in the non-bell choir population. :)

15 pages behind on RTIV. Is it worth reading it all, or just start fresh from last page? Life and work are getting in the way of my CFing!

Thanks! I thought about doing that as well, but I usually do most of my CF at night and that has been impossible lately. This being my first week back at work, not that much opportunity to CF at work either.

You've got to hook me up with the quick recap! Last I read, someone did not like women golfing better than him and I could never be 00clone's adopted son because I have an accent. What else did I miss? You and Nickels engaged yet?

I told her that I promised you that you'd be Best Man. She didn't say no, but she also didn't say yes. I'll keep working on it.

I played bells for my own wedding. ;)

We had a song that I really loved - we called it "Crazy Bells" but the actual title was "Ring to the Lord a New Song". Took every single ringer we had, but I really wanted to use it for our processional. We ended up recording it and playing it back at the wedding. :)

That's pretty darn cool. do you have a copy of it left that you could post?

Nah, you're cool...you have a legitimate accent due to natively speaking a different language. Southern/British/Chi-CAH-go/etc. accents are just because people can't talk right. Although, if my pasty white son started talking with a Hispanic accent, that'd get fixed right quick too, since it'd be phony.

Nope. No chauvinism there. None at all...

Awesome rendition of Hallelujah.

Ironically, the gay brides want me to sing a version of this that they modified for their wedding. I talked them into the new band director singing for most of the wedding. Still working on it for this song too, she is so much better than me, but at least the song is easily in my range.

All of my aunts and uncles are gone now. This just got me thinking that other than my mother it's between me and a couple of cousins as to who is the oldest surviving member of my family.

Damn, probably going to be like C4M's neighbor in a few years.

Gonna be a long drive for me to pick you up in your yard, stuff you in your easy chair, coax you into drinking Ensure, and turning on ESPN for you to yell at. And somehow he charmed me into making lasagna tonight and bringing him some. Too hot for lasagna but he thought he might be able to eat something like that. I am so easily manipulated.

Thanks! I thought about doing that as well, but I usually do most of my CF at night and that has been impossible lately. This being my first week back at work, not that much opportunity to CF at work either.

Living life with that little one is more important than CF. By the time Pants lands Nickels, maybe he can be the ring bearer.

Asked one of the kids what One Direction was. He said he never had been prouder of me than the fact I didn't know this.

I actually have a video of us playing it...if I can find it I'll share it. I'll have to get it converted first, though (it's in VHS format).

It's really kind of funny...I was playing five bells (3 + 2), and there was one segment where I just couldn't get all of them rung when they were supposed to be, so one of the lower bass bell players was ringing my F for about a half page. Problem was, he kept forgetting to give it BACK. So in the video, you can see me walking behind a couple of other ringers, taking my bell back, and ringing it as I'm moving back to my station. :)
