How I see the dilemma that Pants has...

however Pants could just as easily have thought this from day one...

Cyrock you need a boom box and peter gabriel, fly into the cedar rapids airport and you can borrow my car.

Think I can just do Spotify on my phone instead?

While it's Rab's idea, I will put in my thoughts....you could try that, but I think it loses something if it's not an actual mix tape. I'm not sure that now is the time to be messing with an already established formula and just substituting things here.

Good point. Should I get the long overcoat jacket too?

Hmm...the importance of this mission is adding extra stress...I'm going to go with no. I mean, you see a guy with this:

and you think...hey, that's kind of cool, in a retro way...however, you see a guy wearing this:

and you think...Dude, c'mon, man.

Been waiting for wxman to show so I can understand why a F-16 just plows over a C150.

It was our anniversary so we went out.

From the little I have heard it sounded like the F-16 was doing some instrument approaches. So he was probably not looking outside. Even if he was he was more than likely going between 180 and 220kts (at that altitude you can go up to 250 but I don't see those speeds being necessary in this situation) and the 150 was maybe going 100mph (if he is lucky). So the chances of seeing each other is slim and nearly impossible to see and avoid.

My bet is the controller may not have had a radar (highly doubtful since it was a military controller) and thus couldn't see either plane. The more likely scenario is the 150 didn't have his transponder on and thus probably wasn't showing up radar. So they didn't know he was there and smacked right into him.

Bode needs some experiments run on him. I have to know what goes through his mind before he decides to talk, post, breath, etc.

Could be. Even if he did they had already lost separation minimums. 1,000 ft vertical and 1 mile horizontal.

And that, folks, is why flying is one of the safer forms of transportation. Something had to go wrong to even get them in the vicinity of something like this happening.
