There's a certain amount of soap opera feel to it...but much of it rings very true.
The disturbing part for me is seeing just how little control many of the women had over their own lives, let alone their husbands. It was a poorly kept secret that the men (most of them) did a lot of cheating, and that everyone did a lot of drinking. But the way that the women were treated as decorations for the most part brings back bad memories...because it was still quite a bit like that in the 70s, depending on your upbringing (mine was pretty much Southern traditional in terms of how my father expected me & my sisters to behave).
The amazing part for me is seeing the rockets going up again. They have incorporated some pretty good liftoff shots and flight shots, but the story lines mostly center around what happens on the ground.
