Random Thoughts IV

to be fair, the one that sticks out in my mind was from a restaurant and it was heavy on one of the ingredients and wasn't the best. I think I've had it other times and it's been fine.........but I think train is speaking the language of my people with the words "pesto basil parmesan dip with chips" throw in garlic and it's sounding about perfect.


Maybe I do that for my friend gathering? Chicks love chips and dip.


I think I shall go with patriotic fruit pizza for the 4th. And beer. Rum, something along those lines. It said to bring drinks.
 
dangit, I don't even have a chip dip server thingy. I know, I know. Big bowl, little bowl. I can do that but I want to use a cute little chip dip thing.

See, CG is backtracking because she doesn't want me to take back all the nice things I've said about her.

I was going to judge you, then realized hey, I hugged an electric fence when I was like four.

Then thought, yeah, when I was four. You're an adult. So I'm back to judging now.

and also cause I don't want to be dead. I mean, I love a good chip dip and I love those fancy little crackers. So maybe I'm letting that one appetizer thing have too much influence. They also put grenadine in their pop by what tasted like the gallon so they may not be the best to base food judgements on.

For a patriotic dessert, make a jello cake with cherry or strawberry jello. After the cake set, spread whip cream over the top and then added blueberries or blueberries pie filling on top of the whip cream. Something like this but topped with blueberries:

Don't worry, I've already taken back what I took back. Just don't let it happen again.
 
I'm still waiting on that basil pesto parmesan dip recipe, train. The searches I tried didn't give me what I wanted.


I'll think about the cake. It did remind me of that strawberry pretzel dessert thing that I love. Could make that too, but no blueberries, so it'd only be 2/3 patriotic.

CG, I need a good cheese curd place by the Iowa/Wisconsin border. One of my employees that's never left the islands hasn't had them before and I have to mail some to her when I'm back home.

Chaser, you can answer too if you know of one.
 
Speaking of patriotic...yet idiotic...I recently saw someone who took an old bed frame, like an antique looking thing...painted it white, put it in their yard, and must have put some sort of hard surface inside the frame...then put dirt on it and planted flowers in a flag pattern and put cinder blocks under one side so you could see it better from the road. Every time we see it, my wife and I make fun of it. The bed is now starting to bend from the weight of the dirt, it's comical. Of course, the same person has a tree stump for a porch support, and is selling picnic tables out of their front yard.

Prairie du chein, just across the border across the bridge, like 2 blocks in. They sell smoked fish, and I think cheeses. I can get a name in a bit.
