Stupid I can't wear a hat or sunglasses, or be armed in my bank, but I can carry my 4.5 inch folding pocket knife, which the top of it is clearly visible and they have never said anything.

Simple explanation....they have a scimitar under the desk. Most people don't know that, but that's why the small knife is okay.

Boxster, clearly KC is the only one old enough to get this.

I am sometimes surprised at the breadth of old music knowledge in 30-somethings. Example, nieces hubby must have grown up listening to his parental units musics cause he knows most all of the old stuff I know.

I suppose I could have thrown it out into the "general population" but it is a bit unruly lately for casual fun stuff. Off-topic Friday fun isn't to be had there right now.

My 7 year old and 10 year old are getting a pretty darn good education on 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's music. They are even getting a lesser exposure to music from the 1910's through the 1950's.

About a month ago my daughter told me some of the girls at school made fun of her because she told them that Bohemian Rhapsody was her favorite song. They told her that she listened to old people music. I told her that it was tough sometimes but she should be true to herself. They will someday "discover" things that she has known and appreciated for a long time.

Don't get me wrong, I consider myself incredibly knowledgeable about things like the Beatles, and they were well before my time. My dad was a musician so I grew up on music of the 60s and 70s despite being born in the 80s.

That said, I still have no clue what song you had stuck in your head.

Gowing up we listened to my parents' music which was varried (Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, ABBA, Gordon Lightfoot, Simon & Garfunkle). They also travel a lot and like music of places they've been. Also known to have classical music on in their vechicle, so my kids often get exposed to something new when they ride with them. My oldest used to love Michael Jackson, now she loves anything 80's. The youngest two know mostly top 40. One of these days I'm entering the 2yr old into a Name That Tune contest. She is usually the first to identify the songs on the radio.

I'm 29, and the best concert I've ever been to was a concert of Eric Clapton's when I was 24.

I know it now...I thought it was an 80's tune. I didn't post it so that others could have a chance.

My kids were raised with very eclectic music in their lives, from gospel to big band/swing to fifties & sixties rock & pop, to modern country. We also watched a lot of movies...so their exposure to pop culture that was "before their time" is pretty extensive. You don't want to get in a lyric or movie line contest with us! :)
