I have a ton of coupons for Bed Bath and Beyond (20% off) I would be willing to mail you if you look there. If it is more decorative than anything, Hobby Lobby might be a good option. They have different departments on sale every other week. So if you go in and decorative clocks aren't 50% off this week! go next week and they will be. Like others have said, kohls would be a good option as well.

Defenseless? Huh...I'd take an adult male deer over an unarmed adult male human every time. Those pokie things aren't nerf dart material.

I said "defenseles" not "defenseless"
:spinny:

I'm not sure who hunts on CF, but I figured I'd take a playful jab while I had a moment.

Also, I'm on a roll for spelling errors/corrections lately. My edit key haz ben taking a beeting

Yum, Hawaiian rolls, Colby cheese and ham. Pants, are these rolls really something that they eat there?

Yeah, but they don't usually call them Hawaiian rolls, it's Pao doce (which ironically is Portuguese, not Hawaiian). There are a couple of famous Hawaiian based companies that make Hawaiian sweet rolls, but it all started with Pao doce.

I actually don't, never grew up with it, not the patient type...but I respect and appreciate those who do in a responsible manner (for the record, I wouldn't include those who dump their leftovers in the closest apartment dumpster in that group )

I tend to be easily annoyed by the anti-hunters who do so on emotional basis only because they watched Bambi when they were younger, and really don't know much about the overall situation.

*not saying you're in that group, but that's why I tend to respond to statements like that.

You really gonna go and call me out like that, 00?

Just for the record...I pretty much slept from the first post to the second. Yay, naps!

But, so much for following my own advice about resting when sick instead of being the tough guy...Last Friday I woke up with the start of some cold/respiratory tract infection thing (mentioned it along with everyone else), but things to do...Friday we went to DBQ and back, with shopping along the way, got home just before the game...Saturday more shopping and church thing. Sunday mass and back to DBQ to get the kids, and since then my normal too little sleep 2nd shift schedule. Last night I thought I was going to bed early but couldn't fall asleep after my wife's semi-snotty reaction to coming home early...well, I was still a little earlier going to bed....but yeah, so I'm still fighting it.

I don't know your actual position on hunting, but if that's it...yeah, I guess.

My personal stance is that with the wide variety of meats already produced and available, it's mostly a tool these days used by people that get their rocks off by killing living things. They call it sport, I call it slightly sociopathic.

Not saying that's the case with everyone. Just a general statement.

I don't always like to out pics on the kids out there, but just had to brag on our Christmas cards. Thought this group could appreciate them. Sorry for the pic of a pic.

Cyclones clothes were one of the few things I could pull from their closets that matched without having to go buy something. We took quite a few different pics around the Alumni Center which turned out pretty neat (thanks to my free photographer MoreCowbell). Hubby wanted something "recognizable" as Iowa State in the pic. Most of the shots around the building are neat but unless you know the building, you wouldn't know they were taken at Iowa State.

I LURVE that Cy hat!!!

You're focusing on the hunter, but what about the animal? I'm not a big fan of pheasant hunting in Iowa because it's a non-native species, and generally has good population control because of that. However, whitetail are natural species to Iowa and we've removed their natural predators in this environment, thus they have no population control. With that, unless you're gonna start developing deer condoms or 'the deer pill', hunting is the only viable population control other than re-introducing predators. My annoyance comes from the 'it's so mean to kill a deer'...but it's actually more humane when done appropriately than letting the population get out of control and collapse when an illness finds a nice vulnerable dense population.
