Random thoughts III

I really need to remove the tv from my bedroom. My willpower to turn off movies like Bull Durham at 1230 AM is pretty much non-existent.

This is a good reason for us not to have one in our room. Sometimes you get sucked into something even if it isn't that good.

Heh...just talked to Mrs. 00clone this morning that the Headphones on the Roku remote have turned into the temptation I thought they would...She can sleep thru the light of the TV, so putting the headphones in and watching stuff I don't need to has started to become an issue. Not NEAR as big of an issue as when I was plopping on the couch in the basement when I got home, but I gotta get that back in line.

The sleep timer on the TV in our bedroom gets used every night. Neither of us have issues falling asleep with light or noise and I am just not a fan of quiet.

I will fight DH tooth and nail if he wants to put a tv in the bedroom. I doubt he will want to but yeah, don't need that temptation in the room.

Mostly sunny = Rain. Rain = Sunny

Last night was work league golf night. By golf time it is raining steady and forecast to continue for 6 hours. Any idiot could look at the 'dar and see that. So at the course the committee that runs the league says PLAY! Too bad no one in the league is video savvy or they would have recorded my profane mini-rant. Highlighted by several f'bombs and me called the committee ****** nozzle f'n morons.

Had to play since I didn't want to forfeit my teams points. I did lead the mutiny after nine-holes where we all quit.

Was driving home (hour drive) and stuck in rush hour, soaking wet and still ****** when this came on the radio and I was all good again.

I met my be-bop baby at the Union Hall
She could dance all night and shake the paint off the walls
But when I saw her smile across a crowded room, yeah
Well I knew we'd have to leave the party soon
As the band began to play out of tune

Shake the paint off the wall,
one of my all-time fav single line lyrics.

And no, I didn't run my timemachine today, this was in the paper this morning.

It's sad, because that is just about the only tv in our house that gets used. I have a nice set-up in our basement that will occasionally get used during the heat of the summer for movie nights. Otherwise the one in our living room may get used if Talia has a friend over and want to watch a show.

I have more picky eaters than non - picky eaters. Of course I am not a very good example (at least for veggies). I won't make something different, but I will modify. Like last night we had homemade meatball subs. The picky eater just had plain meatballs without any hoagie or spaghetti sauce. She would eat walking tacos every night if I let her. We only do Doritos here, no Fritos with them.

End of the year teachers' gifts bought. Need to make them some treats yet.

The pool is open, I told the girls we will go after school today.

We have always had a tv in our bedroom. We use it sometimes before bed, or hubby will watch on weekend mornings. Last night he was watching GOT episodes on the living room TV (he just finished up season 2 last night). We sent the little 2 in our room to watch Bubble Guppies for a bit while the episode we were watching finished. They didn't need to see the battle of Blackwater Bay.

Random picky eating and food dislikes as a kid:

My mother had to make a smaller separate bowl of chili for my little sis cause she hated beans. Yup, no-bean chili.

As a kid I didn't like cheese. Maybe because it wasn't real cheese, mostly process American cheese crap. Gradually came around because, pizza! Today I am a big consumer of imported cheese, especially aged Dutch stuff.

Didn't like peanut butter as a kid. At ISU I was on a weekend geology bus trip and grabbed a sack lunch from the food service. Lunch time came and I found it was a peanut butter sandwich. Was pretty hungry so tried it and it was okay and been eating peanut butter ever since.

I have two swimsuits for the munchkin and no swim diapers. The time I looked ( a week ago?) they were not on the shelf. I need to look at the times for the wadding area a Brookside.

This seems close to getting back to poopie posts. We have moved on to food and TV's in the bedroom.

I don't even want to go there. I kinda don't want to go to the swim diaper thing either, but grandparents bought the swimsuits.

Could discuss grandparents and gifts again ......:wubclub:

I saw it was on and recorded it on the DVR to watch later. I almost never watch live TV anymore.

Larry: [Larry jogs out to the mound to break up a players' conference] Excuse me, but what the hell's going on out here?
Crash Davis: Well, Nuke's scared because his eyelids are jammed and his old man's here. We need a live... is it a live rooster?
[Jose nods]
Crash Davis: . We need a live rooster to take the curse off Jose's glove and nobody seems to know what to get Millie or Jimmy for their wedding present.
[to the players]
Crash Davis: Is that about right?
[the players nod]
Crash Davis: We're dealing with a lot of ****.
Larry: Okay, well, uh... candlesticks always make a nice gift, and uh, maybe you could find out where she's registered and maybe a place-setting or maybe a silverware pattern. Okay, let's get two! Go get 'em.

I've used a reusable/cloth swim diaper for the last 2 years. Let's be honest, the disposables don't hold pee any better than a reusable one. Knock on wood, we haven't had anything else happen in the pool the last 2 years.

I'll move on to other subjects now.

Stopped at Cy's Locker Room to find a new decal for the new van. They didn't have a walking Cy like I wanted. :( Will have to get to the bookstore.
