My wife wanted that. Instead I got the 27th. My cpa had to rib me about crappy tax planning. He knows I’m cheap.
Youngest son & his wife wanted it as well. We've had a family NYE party since 1993 (except for the covid years). We weren't thrilled, but didn't argue it. HER mom, however, said NO WAY. And since she was paying, it got moved to the 30th instead. The next night, they came to our NYE party, which is frequently an all-night affair for some of the attendees (they sleep over). They expected to have a bedroom to themselves when we had about 15 people staying over (sons, daughters, friends & significant others). They were not happy when we said that wouldn't work out. And if you think we were being insensitive, they had been living together for nearly a year already. Matter of fact, that's why he moved out of our house his senior year & went to live with his mom in Mason City - because we told him she couldn't live with him in our home, and his mom said "okay, but separate rooms"...riiiiiiiigggggghhhhhhtttttt. They moved out of her house in about a month, and instead of enjoying his senior year, he was working 2 jobs and she was working full time (she's a year older than him).

We were pretty skeptical about how long it would last (he was barely 19 when they got married), but four daughters & almost 23 years later, they're still together. Good for them!

Mason city? That time frame either aligned with pants or my nephews. Did he graduate from Mason city?

Speaking of Mason City area. If anyone up there is looking for something to do Friday night it looks like The Pork Tornadoes are at the Surf. Great cover band from CR!

Kneecap bursitis sucks. Don’t know what I did to have this happen, but it got to the point where I wasn’t sleep well due to the pain so I broke down and had to go to urgent care. Two prescriptions later hope for some pain relief. Hopefully they will stave off infection.
