Random Thoughts 17: Here we go again.

Saw a gal working in a convenience store with a trach tube. I’m like that’s sad. When I left I noticed she was out back smoking a cig. SMH.
I feel for her. Quitting isn't easy. We quit 15+ years ago. The easiest way to quit is to never start, and that's easier now because 16 yo kids can't buy them any more, and there's no public indoor spaces and few public outdoor spaces where you can still smoke. If there's nowhere to do it, less chance of starting it.

Woof. Slept in to 9:30. Even went to bed early for me, midnight. Think the old man's batteries need a longer recharge after a hard workout (hard relative to age). Then again, hermit life so nothing on my morning agenda other than coffee and making sure the internet is working properly.

I'm proud I've never smoked one ciggarette. Seemed like everyone around me did at some point but I just never got into it.

My grandpa would smoke all the time and to the day a freshly lit cig is fir whatever reason a nice smell. After that though and I just smell the same as my clothes the day after going to a bar back when they allowed it.

Samesies except my great grandpa smoked a pipe. To this day I like that smell even though I dont smoke. Going into a dedicated tobacco store comes really close to the same smell. Haven't seen one of those in ages last one I was in was in was in C.F.

I didn't start smoking until I was in my late 20s, meaning I never smoked when I was pregnant. An unhappy life and working with people who ALL smoked, AT their desks...it was too easy to fit in. Then when I realized I had dropped 80 lbs due to decreased appetite, it made it that much harder to quit because I knew what I would look like if I quit. Well, I was proven correct on that front (menopause and the onset of scoliosis contributed)...but overall I'm better off now than I would have been. And Lew would either be in late stage emphysema or dead. So I definitely don't regret the choice, even if I'm roly-poly. :D

I LOVE the smell of UNsmoked pipe tobacco to this day. Daddy smoked a pipe, so did my grandpa and one of Daddy's brothers.

Woot woot done with work. Good wkend all went well. Went out for supper with MN niece and her husband. They were kind enough to pick up supper then I picked up ice cream. The girl at the ice cream window sure smiled when I told her to keep the difference. I guess a $2.50 tip at the ice cream stand is a good one. Just never expected that much of a response.

Remember, it’s better to bike with the wind and not into it.

Always make sure you have a tailwind on the way back. I got hung once when the wind switched and I had head winds both ways and it was way too hot. That was a miserable experience.
