On vacation, it’s stressful sitting in your garage smoking and drinking. They bought a new HUGE fifth wheel camper recently. Guess what they did not take on vacation.
I am not sure I want to ask but….how do they make money?

He inherited a little farm ground and guessing he has IPERS, he was a janitor at ISU. You can tell when rent checks hit, they do a little work to their house, plan a trip and buy something. They are hand to mouth type people.

only a few days off now.....

The local paper had a article on the front page emphasizing the fines for shooting fireworks off during not allowed time. The 1st yr they were legal the town looked like Thunderfest had came to town it was so smoky.

Ya get to lightning those fireworks in this drought.
Actually in my area though the drought is still in effect the top has gotten enough rain lately to green it up. Long ways from good but better than 2 weeks ago.

We're in a 6 year drought for overall precip but yes it's been better lately.

Neighbors weeds going crazy again where they decided to not finish their lawn. I may be nice and mix 3 lbs of atrazine in a jug of class act and tell them that I’m offering an olive branch and this will fix their weed mess.

For 5 years.

Thought that seemed a little stiff, then I read your follow up statement.

Got out in the canoe yesterday for the first time in a while to Lake Wisconsin. Never been so just kind of paddled around and ended up out a couple of smaller islands. Was super tired when I was done and when I got back I looked on a map and turns out I paddled roughly 4-5 miles.

Was nice despite the haze...not sure if I'll go back. After about 1 PM the jet skis started flying.

I recently learned of the ferry on there. The fact that it runs 24/7 seemed incredibly inefficient. Is there really demand for it in the middle of the night?

That's a good question. It's free but it's not like driving around the lake to get to the other side would take much longer and I don't know who needs to use it at 4 a.m.

I was up in Bayfield last week and took the ferry but it's also used for some shipments of white fish etc. which would be more practical for a long usage (I don't believe it's 24/7).

Always drunks , it’s Wisconsin. It’s their past time.

I can see this. There's a couple of bars I think on either side or at least close.

Judgey on my part but the crowd showing up yesterday was the loud crowd that deters me from certain areas. It's not THAT far from the Dells....
