Smoking a pork butt today, now it's starting to look like a storm might be headed my way.

We need the rain but darn, they called for a chance of rain every day this week and the days have been great. The only rain we got was Wednesday about 7-8pm.

27% chance today and 70% chance Saturday & Sunday so I decided it had to be today. Internal is up to 118 so I have quite a way to go.

Stopped by Westwood Lake on way home last evening around 6. It was almost perfect. 80 and low dewpoint. Damn, if it was like that all of the time there would be 20 million people living here in MN.

Good walkabout to, saw a hummingbird gathering spider web material. They use it as part of their nest "glue". Hadn't ever seen that before. Or it might have been stealing bugs the spider caught. They do both. Sort of cool

Before you go selling your services as a rainmaker you might want to experiment some. You might only draw huge bird poops on the hood.
I dubbed one of my motorcycles as "The Rainmaker" Now I just usually refer to whatever bike I own as that.

Guys.

It's been a week, and it ain't "over" for me until about 9p on Saturday.

And then there'll be other stuff to have to figure out next week. Meh.

Why yes, I could make this post a LOT murkier if you'd like.
Wait, it got "better"! Husband told me late last night his dad and stepmom will be in town this weekend.

Got to fly down the Mississippi River from St. Paul to Guttenberg in a National Guard Huey back in the 1980's. Was pretty cool. Mostly posting that to torment @wxman1 but he can counter with WWII warbird flight with his son.

Several warbird flights with my son and father ;) and likely soon a Tri-Motor ride with them.

Cannot find the picture inside the German Fokker trimotor from decades ago here at a small airshow. Was from old Spanish service. Can't find anything on it on the interweb. Wonder if it's still airworthy. Do remember it being in very much "survivor" condition and well worn in the cockpit. Same visit had me in cockpit of some jet fighter with pic that CWW#2 took. Also cannot find.

Random thought. Part of me wishes we would have had RTT when you were going through your CWW stages. Could have been fun.

When Jean-Claude Duvalier was president of Haiti I took a ride on his brand new S76 from Sikorsky when his representatives came to pick it up. Got to fly out over Long Island Sound.

Got to ride in one by Mount Rushmore so a NE Guard unit could get some flight hours in. We had our feet hanging out, looking the dudes eye to eye. That was a fun little day.

Got home. Doctor neighbor is moving. Struggling to back up a trailer, doing the classic rookie mistakes. Wondered if I should go help but didn’t want to make him feel bad. He gave up and whipped it around front, somehow he put the trailer tires on his lawn as he drove in front. He took off so I guess I don’t need to help.

No reason to feel bad - you can back a trailer and he can't; he can do running subcuticular sutures and you can't.

Are you sure I can’t? I’ve had to do quick doctor type things to hogs before.
You would be batshit crazy to waste that stitch on hogs when you could do another stitch with half the time and effort that would hold. The advantage of the running subcuticular sutures is a flatter result with less scarring. On top of that a less than cooperative patient would make the precise moves difficult.
