So, I've talked myself into a box at a lower-wage job.
I called to give notice and be polite, and the job has been nice , especially for what it is.
But now they're checking to see if they can give me a raise, and I'm all confused. New job starts Monday night. They're both supposed to be expendable if something FT comes around, but this feels weird and messy.

Me, too.
I picked up the first PT job that would offer me, in order to stop some bleeding and start getting ready for tax repayment. Another one called a couple weeks ago, had a good interview, and they made an offer. Once I passed the physical, I went ahead and gave notice today to that first PT job.
They didn't want me to leave, so they called up the chain to offer me a raise, but it wasn't as much as the new one, so the confusion I felt solved itself.
Being a people-pleaser is great for customer service jobs, but it's not so great for looking out for yourself a bit.

True story - when he tried on the costume at the shop, he did the chest thumping thing...then got this weird look on his face and said "I have my OWN boobies now!".
Shopkeepers don't really understand our sense of humor..

We just saw a sign on a door that said open 7.00 to 6.00 M-F and had the exact same reaction!
Go into a liquor store on the way to grab the wife’s new chair/ottoman (side note, I now have put 1900 miles on this pickup I bought first of June). A liquor store has to be cheaper than Casey’s right? Nope.
Want my banana pudding moonshine, they are out and dude tells me this other brand is same or better. We will see, nice thing about the old brand is, no one but me knows how much I have drank since I just replace the bottle with the same thing.
Also got another bottle of peanut butter whiskey that I had in Nashville. Had to covertly carry it in since my wife had the whole youth group from the church meeting at our house tonight. Always thought 60 proof was weak sauce, but it actually makes for some easy sipping type stuff.

Someone bought me a shot of peanut butter whiskey the other day, I have to admit it is really good.
Why would one go out in the rain last night at 10:30 and collect rain water in a kitchen pan and fill 3-4 of the square kitty litter container? 7 am and I come home from the gym and the same gal is collecting water again! Get a damn rain barrel!
I love sleeping with the windows open with it raining and thundering out But to hear your neighbors collecting rain water two quarts at a time.....what a couple of nut jobs!
