I'll never forget back when I was in college I was late for work because a woman was cleaning up on a puzzle and I just had to see how it would turn out. She just kept hitting huge dollar amounts ($5000 was the most on the wheel) and guessing letters. It was "The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat". She got just about every letter on the puzzle but she must not have been a sports fan because she still had no idea what it was. She had an unheard of amount racked up and she lost it all.

Found it:

My wife was on the Price is Right in college. She made it to the showcase showdown. The biggest prize she came home with was just what every college student needs, a gazebo.

A guy a year behind me in HS won the whole thing. One prize was a dodge caravan. He sold it to a friend but it had to go through a dealer, I happened to be at the dealership when it was drop shipped to us. It was the most stripped down thing you could get. Didn't even had the tint for the rear windows that helps keep it cooler. I think it even had manual locks and windows. I didn't even know we could strip a vehicle down that far to get for someone.

This is the type of prize that feels like a punishment.

When we purchase a fleet type pickups they have to be special ordered because otherwise you can't get manual door locks and crank windows. But they are definitely cheap.

It was at first. Her dad wasn't very happy when a truck showed up and started throwing lumber in his garage. However, between the damage claim from the trucking company and then selling the rest of it back to the originating company, she was able to buy a decent used car.

Remember the early days of Wheel of Fortune where you had to buy prizes with your winnings? A blender you could buy at Target for $25 was about $90
And lets not forget the ceramic dalmatian

I'm pretty sure every girl I went to college with wanted her hair to look exactly like what Vanna's hair looks like in that pic.

Not a $4,295 new car?

I obviously don’t know the issues you are having but I struggled with their career services. Since I wanted to go into aviation they wee not much help. Signed up for a mock interview once and the interviewer treated it like a real one and since I wasn’t interested in working for enterprise or whatever car rental company they had for management majors it lasted for all of five or ten minutes I think.

A few months after graduation, I checked in with the LAS career services. All they told me was to have a robust LinkedIn profile (but not what that meant), and that I'd do awesome because I'm friendly, smart, determined, and energetic. It felt nice and all, but they didn't do squat. I have the feeling that career service jobs are quite the sham positions.

The Business School one was such a joke. The woman assigned to my major knew nothing about my major and just directed me towards CyHire.

The freshman business professionalism/resume writing class was also hilarious, taught by her. She gave me a C on my resume because it was too flashy or something and didn't follow the "rules". That resume earned an award a year before in a High School Business Professional of America competition and I had my dad send me the trophy and newspaper article.

She changed my grade to an A on my resume.

This was the nerdiest paragraph I've ever read.

I was waiting for you to say that she gave you an F because it wasn't work you did for the class.
