We had a lot of old people at the bank I was at. Old people means lots of change. We had to have one.

Are your banks charging a fee for accepting change? That is a disturbing trend I have seen. You can't even deposit some of your money without paying a fee.

I have never been charged for having them count change. For a while I had to deposit it and then withdraw money if I wanted it but they stopped that.
I do know that the bank we use for our account for our charity has charged us a fee for making multiple cash deposits within a time frame.

I should add I would use Coinstar but they take something like 10.5%. That's like money laundering fees.

Mine only charges if you don't have an account with them.

Also my bank stopped using deposit slips. You have to write your account number on the back of a check or tell the teller. Not sure how they do withdrawals.

Hi everyone! Sorry that I've been absent, but it was mostly not my fault. DH and I had shot #2 late Saturday a.m. and as of Sunday morning was sure I'd be in the small group of no side/after effects. I was wrong. Not bad, although a slightly elevated temp (99.3) and feeling very tired -- even my eyelids felt tired -- were enough. Hint of a headache eventually needed a tylenol that evening and another early yesterday morning. Thank goodness I'm still working from home. Brain fog yesterday meant more thinking about everything. Only slept about 6 hours last night, so not sure how today will go.
Oh, and on Friday someone disabled my ability to post here. Glad that finally got resolved yesterday. I was having withdrawal by not being able to write to my Internet friends...

That's called being banned/ suspended . You must have got one of those new mods mad at you.

Just got signed up for my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine so I am super exited for that. And I'll be getting it on Saturday so I'll have some time to recuperate if I need to.

Also, I moved this weekend and absolutely love my new apartment

Been watching Ken Burns' doc series on The Roosevelts. Burns is as thorough a researcher as I could ever imagine. Plus some wonderful celebrity voices: Paul Giamatti as Teddy, Edward Herrmann as FDR, Meryl Streep as Eleanor. Also recognized Josh Lucas, Pamela Reed, and Keith Carradine.

I didn't realize that FDR and Eleanor lived separate lives quite a bit......His mother never approved of her, which wounded Eleanor greatly.

Can anyone verify if in Iowa, if a park website says it's 'Closed until May', that means it's just closed to services and is still accessible or if it's actually closed up entirely to public access.

Looking specifically at Eagle Point park in in Dubuque or similar.

Eagle Point is a drive-thru park that costs a dollar / vehicle to get your car in. There is a big parking lot on the north side of the park if you just want to park there and walk in (I'm pretty sure).
