In the early 20th century you could even buy a house through the Montgomery Ward catalogue. Not too many years ago there was one still standing in NE Iowa that my mom pointed out to me.
My great great grandfather bought one from the catalogue one year for $2,000. Then bought the plumbing for it the next summer for another $2,000. House is still standing today in rural Boone county. My great grandfather sold it before he died in the late 1980's and the person living in it today used to work at the Ames Post Office downtown before she retired.

Whats the son taking up?

Also, telling your wife she looks 65 when she turns 50 doesn't probably work. I better remember my advice for this March.
He's not sure but is thinking about computer science. He's also not sure where he's going to college but ISU is a finalist.

This one is for @Ms3r4ISU:
I'm seeing a word pop up on social media, and in memes, and it is really making me crazy: "Sike"

Psych. THE WORD IS PSYCH. We used it in the 70s, but it's older than that. I think it came from "psychological warfare".

Freaking lazy-ass spelling...

Yeah, wall street is fighting back against the nerds. I just threw a couple hundred bucks in for fun knowing that probably the worst of the damage would cost me a hundred bucks or so.
That kind of manipulation implodes unless the person doing it is a savvy trader (or group of traders). And the savvy manipulation tends to dance on the legal/illegal line.
