In years gone by, I would look at the schedule and try to see if I could spot "WTF losses" before they happened. This year, I am thinking it will be more of a "WTF wins" approach.

They also love white cabinets in kitchens right now to brighten the area so it feels bigger. With two young kids (one of them crawling), I would have to wipe down those cabinets daily.
My white sink is beyond bleaching any more, and I haven't been able to find a white double-sink to replace it. I want to go to stainless, but the stove, dishwasher, sink & fridge are all white. And the floor tile is white and the countertops are mostly white. Cupboards are oak. I'm just not sure how stainless would look...but I would want all of the appliances to be the same as the sink. May end up replacing one a year or something.
Lew suggested remodeling the kitchen, but I'm pretty burnt out on remodeling/additions right now. This has been a long and VERY frustrating process.
MrsWx painted the cabinets white and the countertops this marble like black and white thing. She also wanted a new sink but I was so done with everything after the floor, cabinets and counter tops. So we went out with friends and she got me drunk enough to agree and we stopped at Lowes on the way home to get a nice big farmhouse style black sink. After install I fell in love and will miss it.
I replaced my kitchen sink with a white drop in double sink that is acrylic.
I used a stainless faucet that I was worried wouldn't look right with it but after I got it all together I liked the way it looked
I have a somewhat big open plan kitchen. Lots of counter space I use for dropping stuff off and never putting it away. Currently the Nikon with 200-500mm lens, binoculars, two small 3 lb shoulder range of motion rehab weights, elastic exercise band, two pair of bike gloves, sleeve of BB's, the Marvin windows file folder, the old under cabinet light I replaced last week (the one that still works but should toss), the house plant watering jug, a cell phone backup battery, etc. And, of course, a swiss army knife. Also some actual cooking food related stuff cause technically still a kitchen and not a store room.

It's that time of year when the low winter sun angle comes through my clerestory windows and hits me right in the eye mid to late morning. Could move from my favorite laptop chair but, no, put a hat on for the sun screening bill. #slothlife
I thought you lived alone. Who took a pic of you napping? Do you have a peeping Tom?
We found a couple at Menards & Lowes, but they were shallow sinks, around 5-6 inches deep. Both sides of my sink are 8 inches deep. The deep double sinks were all stainless.
Does a sink really have to match the appliances? We have a stainless sink and all of our appliances are white. I don't want to go to stainless appliances because every manufacturer has a different view of what color that is. Besides the opening for our fridge is small enough (both width and height) that we have a devil of a time finding one that will fit and still has a decent capacity. White ones are hard enough to find like that. A stainless one that matches all of the other appliances would probably be an impossibility.
Or is it like I am told by the teenager, I can only sport one brand's logo on my shorts, shirt, socks, cap, etc.? Do I have to have the same brand in all of my kitchen appliances or I look like a nerd?

As long as we're legitimately competitive (i.e. not like last year's close losses where you could actually see teams pacing themselves), I actually plan to shrug off wins and losses. Wins will be a nice luxury and a lot of fun. Competitive losses will be a good enough day.
We have the same issue with our fridge (needing to fit into a specific space). And it's nearly 18 years old. It does need to be replaced eventually; it has an ice maker and water in the door, and the minerals in our well water (prior to our switch to rural a couple of years ago) really did a number on the ice maker.
The stove is around 15 years old, and is white but the glass cooking surface is black. The flat burners are really showing their age, but other than replacing the bottom heat coil several years ago, we have had no issues with it.
The dishwasher is about 5 years old; the one that was in here when we moved in finally gave up the battle against the well water.
We have a water softener but we still battle our rock hard water. I have replaced the dishwasher once (about due again), the water heater once, the fridge once and the disposal three times (all due to corrosion) since we have lived here.
This reminds me I am overdue for draining out the bottom of the water heater. I like to time it for right before we leave town so no one is complaining about little or no hot water. Does everyone do this? I don't generally completely drain it but run a bunch out to get what sediment I can out.
I've never done it. On Mpls water and it is pretty soft at 65 PPM/4 gpg. Junked the old Sears water softener years ago, probably dated to when the house was still on well water. Was a remnant left by the old Norwegian couple that owned the house.
Now you have me thinking the hot water cooker is probably the next appliance to crap out on me. It will turn 20 in February.
